Spoiler:MythicSpoiler-Declaration in Stone
As I was looking at this, it popped out at me as another card along the lines of Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile, with the whole "exile a creature and then give opponent something". My question is if it is playable in Modern, and if so, is it better than Path to Exile for its downside barely benefits the opponent, unless they are playing affinity, or is it unplayable due to its higher mana-cost?

The sorcery speed hurts a lot, but then it might be too good for Standard.

yeah its a sorcery and 2 mana so its sideboard able against maybe zoo decks or something but not much past sideboard

It's nowhere near Path. Even Condemn is better.

No. Never modern playable. Maybe if it was an instant rather than a sorcery but even then it is still a stretch.

Thats really not fair to say never modern playable just because its not path its good against eldrazi if you get 2 mimics thought knots or reality smashers you just win

If Maelstrom Pulse is playable this is playable. Giving your opponent draw though probably isn't the best option.

Fair enough. I was too hasty in saying this would never see play. I think that being only limited to creatures may be too big of a drawback, not to mention the 2 or more cards that they get to draw with their spare mana. I just don't see it. Against tokens this could work but it also magnifies the drawback as well.

i mean when you think about it it does what it wants to do when it is played correctly. In a tempo aggro deck yeah it costs one more but can hit two things and gets rid of the creatures so you can hit them if the clue was a creature that could block sure that would suck but its not its exiled too which is relevant over destroy against decks like living end. In another situation it hits the biggest threats in the deck so getting rid of multiple reality smashers....sure draw cards what are you gonna get? I killed your threats also the clue is 2 to draw so its not exactly cheap to just draw a card when your functioning on 4-6 mana most games. No its not amazing but its definitely an option

If you have a W/B token or any token heavy meta then yes you will want to play this card with path, never over it though. It would be a stretch but you could use this along side Hurkyls Recall or Fracturing Gust to off set the down side potentially.

No because maelstrom pulse hits planeswalkers. This only hits creatures.
Even if you want to kill tokens you sideboard Ratchet Bomb or something over this because it's more generically useful in a variety of situations.

In a sideboard yes not mainboard and not more then 2. Can exile all tokens and give no draw back. Good against zoo too i think but theres many times that path beats this. Not just since its an instant but because its a 1 drop where this card is only good if you get 2+ creatures removed.
