So October's is Ultimate Price, and November's is another prime Uncommon from Dragons of Tarkir.

Here's a close up of the art.

I can't argue with this promo either. Especially since it's played in Modern.

I agree, seems like a good promo, though could you tell me what plays Roast in modern?

Certain red decks run Roast since it kills Siege Rhino, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and it also kills Deceiver Exarch. Exarch being the prime target for a Roast since one Lightning Bolt doesn't do the job.

EDIT: Sam Pardee ran one Roast maindeck and 2 in the side in this video series where he ran UR Splinter Twin.

I run a playset in my Standard deck. Thus, I will be getting 4 of the Roast promos. Gg no re.

It's really not bad in modern, just not the best. Nice card.

Meh. Art is pretty good I guess. Also a nice card.

@JWiley129, Roast doesn't kill Deceiver Exarch because Roast is a sorcery and Deceiver Exarch has flash.

Yeah, UR and RUG Twin both play a one of Roast along with possibly 1-2 more in the sideboard. RUG less so, though, since it can be aggressive enough to use Dismember.

I've considered Roast as a possible card in UWR Control, but it has since been outclassed by Swift Reckoning.

Also, huge props to the new art. You can see the dude's skeleton through the fire! Very nice.

AwesomeName - There are times where the Twin player plays the Exarch and doesn't Twin it immediately. Opening it up to Sorcery speed removal.

Roast art is an upgrade to me. I will try to get a set.

I wonder if Ultimate Price will be well positioned after rotation. Should still see reasonable play at some point and be worth something.

JWiley129 While it's true that Roast can kill a Deceiver, it isn't exactly the cleanest answer. The reason I play roast at all in the deck is to kill Rhinos, Goyfs, and Tasigurs. If i wanted to kill Deceiver primarily, I'd play Combust or something. Maybe even Harvest Pyre.

Basically, in the Twin mirror, there isn't really much reason to be worried about an already-resolved Deceiver other than "Can I make sure a Twin gets countered?". If the answer is no, you're prolly losing anyways.

I think it looks great. I love how you can see the shadow of his rib cage. I'm so gross XD

art looks fantastic. my question is, who is being roasted in the art per say, or is it just a random miner?
