Odd trend with Duel Decks

I've noticed that with the colours of duel decks, always seems to be the most favoured of them all. I have bought almost every duel deck possible and I'm being flooded with mountains but yet have little to no access to islands.

Here is a count of all the colours and how often they appear as part of the theme in each deck, so a number can appear twice in one duel deck product if it appears in both sides.

I view the duel decks as something that experienced players can use to teach newer players some of the finer points of the game with. Newer players tend to like red spells. Therefore, give the new players red cards.

Nothing but a theory of course.

Red is usually easiest to play with, too.

Because only a red player would shell out money for a duel deck?

Joking aside, red is a good bridge for people from other, faster card games (yugioh, I'm looking at you, where a turn 3 kill is long in a lot of deck, and control wins turn 5 or 6.) to a slower format like standard.

Wasn't green the most popular newbie color?

@TexasDice, both Green and Red are great starters. Big stompy beasts and small fast creatures is easy to understand. White and Black follow as the Group decks and the Kill everything I see deck

and blue is for people who have sold their soul to magic.

I'd wager it's partly because most of the duel decks can be summarized as "some-kind-of-aggro/burn versus some-kind-of-control/combo" and red suits the first category the most easily, particularly if the deck needs to be mostly commons.
