Have at it.

Terastodon Kazandu Tuskcaller there's probably more. Even though the second isn't an Elephant it summons them so there were Elephants on Zendikar before.

Gift of Tusks is hilarious. Turn to Frog just got 1-upped in the flavor category.
January 6, 2016 2:26 a.m.
Have you seen the new black mythic?
The art is cool but I think it is worse than Abyssal Persecutor

I'm a little bit late, but I love the flavour text on Oath of Chandra. It, in one sentence, explains so much about her character, and although it doesn't fit with the pattern of the rest, that is 100% her character. She wants people to be happy and free, and doesn't care much for formalities like The Oath as much as the rest of The Gatewatch.

Those health lands are starting to look a whole lot better compared with the new dual-coloured ones that come in tapped ... and that's it.
January 6, 2016 8:17 a.m.
Argeaux - So Wizards isn't allowed to print strictly-worse cards? That's news to me.
January 6, 2016 8:32 a.m.
@ JWiley129 - So Wizards isn't allowed to print cards that were better than those in the past or equal? That's news to me.
January 6, 2016 9:22 a.m.
Heh.
I never said that, JWiley129.
Was commenting on the fact that a lot of players at my LGS have been seeing the health lands as a "last resort", but I'm sure that will now change.
January 6, 2016 9:30 a.m.
kengiczar - Complaining about a card or card-cycle because of power-level is silly to me. Bad cards have to exist, so complaining that they exist is pointless. Wizards is going to print strictly-worse and strictly-better cards for most cycles and card types. Just because we have a functional reprint of Shivan Oasis doesn't mean they can't print better cards (Rugged Highlands) or equal to cards (Timber Gorge) or worse cards.
Argeaux - The gain-lands are solid budget options for people who don't/can't shell out for the "real" dual lands in Standard. The baseline for any dual land is it has to enter the battlefield tapped, and that's it. So the new cycle will let Wizards put these in future sets and can help casual manabases out.
January 6, 2016 9:36 a.m.
Yes, I know that.
I think you've got the wrong end of the stick.
I'm not COMPLAINING about the new lands.
I'm saying that they are making the health lands look better.
January 6, 2016 9:37 a.m. Edited.
Void Shatter
1UU
Instant
Devoid (This card has no color.)
Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, exile it instead of putting it into its owner's graveyard.
Dimensional Infiltrator
1U
Devoid (This card has no color.)
Flash, flying
1: Exile the top card of target opponent's library. If it's a land card, you may return Dimensional Infiltrator to its owner's hand.

Void Shatter confirmed for devoid Dissipate.
January 6, 2016 10:56 a.m.
EpicFreddi says... #15
Note: The Ability costs one generic and one colorless, not just one generic.
January 6, 2016 10:56 a.m.
Hmm, flashing this in to block and instantly exiling a land would be sweet
January 6, 2016 11 a.m.
Ooooo that will be a welcome Counter spell.
I played Allies all through BFZ and was gonna take a break from them this time ... but all these new Allies and the support ability are making them mighty tempting.

if you have Herald of Kozilek out on the battlefield void shatter is actually better Counterspell
January 6, 2016 11:19 a.m.
AgentGreen says... #21
*Looks at Void Shatter; looks at Spell Shrivel
Sorry Spell Shrivel, you've been replaced
January 6, 2016 11:50 a.m.
EpicFreddi says... #22
Spellshrivel is easierer splashable, if that's even a word.
January 6, 2016 11:51 a.m.
I would run Spell Shrivel if you are worried about having enough blue mana. I would run Void Shatter if having is not a problem by turn 3.
January 6, 2016 12:09 p.m.
AgentGreen says... #25
I'm probably going to run both Void Shatter and Spell Shrivel, both feeds processors and both are solid counters in their own right. Less of a need for ingest
Scatter to the Winds is likely going to be replaced as Void Shatter is easier to get
January 6, 2016 12:46 p.m.
Scatter to the Winds has its place though. But mostly will get replaced, yeah. But what about the French spoiler! Looks like fun!
January 6, 2016 2:15 p.m.
Inverter of Truth: whoa, did Wizards actually give us another undercosted black 6/6 flyer (technically not black, but it has in its mana cost so whatever)? I thought they'd never do that again. Too bad it doesn't have trample like Abyssal Persecutor does.
Playing this as a late game bomb against mill = lol

Void shatter is great. A big problem with countering spells is Snapcaster Mage, and void shatter is a middle finger to Snapcaster Mage
January 6, 2016 3:48 p.m.
True, but why isn't Dissipate played in modern? I don't think this will either, unfortunately, unless we can easily abuse the colorless aspect.
January 6, 2016 3:57 p.m.
Welp, we have a colorless charm and it's good.
Tagging ChiefBell for be possibility of Modern play.
January 6, 2016 4:05 p.m.
Thats pretty good, but is probably too specific to see any real play.
January 6, 2016 4:18 p.m.
OH WOW I missed the counter part. Ok yea its very good. I just doubt it will be modern playable... Sorcery counter is OK, but the exile wont hit much... all I can think of off the top of my head is Exarch and baby jace
January 6, 2016 4:20 p.m.
Don't forget: it hits Pestermite too, as well as Young Pyromancer, Grim Lavamancer, a prowess-less Monastery Swiftspear, Spellskite, Snapcaster Mage, Noble Hierarch, Dark Confidant, Glistener Elf, and more
January 6, 2016 4:28 p.m.
Cards Warping Wail hits
- Snapcaster Mage
- Deceiver Exarch
- Pestermite
- Wandering Fumarole
- Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip
- Glistener Elf
- Blighted Agent
- Spellskite
- Noble Hierarch
- Monastery Swiftspear pre-prowess trigger
- Abbot of Keral Keep pre-prowess trigger
- Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
- Flickerwisp
- Grim Lavamancer
And these are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Jimmy_Chinchila says... #40
Serra Ascendant, the Soul Sisters, Rattleclaw Mystic, Zulaport Cutthroat are some more
January 6, 2016 4:40 p.m.
Harashiohorn says... #41
Affinity probably doesn't want, neither does R/G Tron, but colorless Control, U-Tron, and other less meta variants get a pretty sizable boost from that and Spacial Contortion, two instant speed removal options? That's pretty solid, and in useless games it becomes an average/underwhelming ramp spell at worst.
January 6, 2016 4:41 p.m.
Warping Wail looks kind of fun. I can't really decide if I like that or Spacial Contortion more for ..
January 6, 2016 4:46 p.m.
The reason why warping wail is good isn't because of the power of the modes, it's about the versatility. It's good almost every game, it almost always finds great targets.
Oh, and it kills Mother of Runes.
January 6, 2016 5:06 p.m.
Sorceries Warping Wail hits:
- Serum Visions
- Rift Bolt
- Lava Spike
- Thoughtseize (although a bit late to counter this)
- Anger of the Gods
- Ancient Stirrings
- Scapeshift
- Inquisition of Kozilek
- Wrath of God/Damnation
- Tooth and Nail (fringe card, I know)
- Past in Flames
- Living End
- Distortion Strike
- Gitaxian Probe (If you care to counter it)
- Boom/Bust (fringe)
- Wrench Mind
- Smallpox
- Summer Bloom
- Roast
- Pyroclasm
- Death Cloud
- Firespout
- Footsteps of the Goryo
- Lingering Souls
- Maelstrom Pulse
- Painful Truths
- Creeping Corrosion
- Crumble to Dust
- Memoricide
- Polymorph
- Shatterstorm
- Bring to Light
I did a little more work on this list, and it's hardly exhaustive.

FAMOUSWATERMELON says... #45
So, Bx Eldrazi officially a thing with that charm? Looks pretty playable in Modern, as far as I'm concerned.
January 6, 2016 5:15 p.m.
FAMOUSWATERMELON - Well, The Eldrazi deck gets a potential 2-mana 4/4 with Thought-Knot Seer off of double Eldrazi Temple. The Warping Wail gives it some other depth. It will be interesting to see how the deck evolves from here.
January 6, 2016 5:23 p.m.
I'd give it a try as a one or two of in eternal formats. It certainly hits enough for it to be played in them. I'm going to main deck 3 of these in blue devoid control- along with Spatial Contortion, they hit everything that your counters don't.
January 6, 2016 5:39 p.m.
Jimmy_Chinchila says... #49
JWiley129 holy crap those are massive lists, I love when an uncommon has so many potential shells in multiple formats. Cheap to get!
January 6, 2016 6:16 p.m.
So with Warping Wail killing both Pestermite and Deceiver Exarch we got a card that kills a whole tier1 deck in Modern!
Jimmy_Chinchila says... #1
Lol first elephant I've seen on Zendikar... So off theme. Everyone was wanting a new Pongify! Lol, so dumb. I'm gonna be pissed if my Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger or Dragonlord Atarka get hit by this... Especially Ulamog for flavor alone... Who needs an Oath, lets turn him into a gopher!
