I'll be honest zemon you need to get better audio equipment

Has the set been uploaded so that we can build decks with it? I know part of it has been, but I tried to make a deck only to find that half of the OGW cards I wanted to put in "could not be found."

Give it time, young padawan. The force known as "the staff" are working on it.
January 11, 2016 9:06 a.m.
XD alrighty. I just would have thought that with the full set spoiled it wouldn't take too long ;P
January 11, 2016 9:09 a.m.
the card I'm most excited for is the new Nissa. Nissa, voice of Zendikar is looking like in my opinion the best card that has been spoiled. her plus one and her minus 2 work so well together and also adding a draw function and a life gain function into a green deck solves so many problems that a green deck seems to have.

I'm really excited with all the new Eldrazi
Eldrazi in BFZ were very underpowered. This set really makes them a threat no matter what happens
January 11, 2016 12:44 p.m.
chandra seems to me like the worst planeswalker due to the fact that she can't protect herself unless you use her minus ability because you do have to exile those tokens at the end of your turn also she has such a high mana cost for such low loyalty just doesn't seem good if i can kill it with 2 zurgo, bellstrikers. the only way i could possibly justify running the new chandra and using her plus 1 ever is to run her in a deck with omnath locus of rage

AgentGreen says... #12
Gepetto I think Eldrazi builds will be more common after Khans and Fate rotate out. Especially if SOI have alot of graveyard play. Eldrazi removal and exile will be a thing to crimp graveyard decks to death
January 11, 2016 1:21 p.m.
I think Chandra is great. She's not format defining, like Elspeth, Sun's Champion was, but she is very strong. It is suboptimal that she protects herself with a minus ability, and a -X at that. However the ability to wrath the board is very strong. Especially when you attack your 2-power creature into their Siege Rhino! Her +1 puts a ton of pressure on the opponent and her 0 is very good in the decks that will want her.

Anybody who underestimates both Chandra and Nissa's new power in Standard do so at their own peril.
January 11, 2016 3:04 p.m.
I can already see the new standart meta: Everyone has 4 Disdainful Stroke mainboard and plays mono blue eldrazi aggro
January 11, 2016 3:09 p.m.
January 11, 2016 3:12 p.m.
Reality Smasher is so broken in standart. I'm surprised the price hasn't spiked like Hangarback Walker yet. Maybe the spike will happen after release or PT.

Is anyone else just super excited for the artwork of this set???? i keep going... OOOOO PREEETYYY!!
January 11, 2016 4:04 p.m.
What do people think of B/G Eldrazi midrange/ramp? My version is just Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and Dread Defiler, with some one-ofs, then jamming 4 Duress and 3-4 Transgress the Mind. Add some ramp spells and the Sanctum and Shrine, and boom. Resilient ramp deck with removal options in the sideboard?
January 11, 2016 4:15 p.m.
OMG THE TOKENS!!!!
(especially chandras elemental omg so cool)
January 11, 2016 7:19 p.m.
I like the new scion token better. It's weird that they put the same scion token from BFZ again tho.
January 11, 2016 7:21 p.m.
Kroto it's ulamog's brood, and the new tokens are kozilek's brood

Can someone please explain why there is no Inquisition of Kozilek in Oath of the Gatewatch? The entire set is about Kozilek, so wouldn't it make sense to put the one goddamn staple that sees play across formats? IoK is now $27. That's more ridiculous than $16 Remands, $8 Serum Visions, or even $8 Path to Exiles. What the hell WotC, what. the. hell.
Seriously. Not putting Inquisition of Kozilek, an uncommon that sees cross format play and is in desperate need of a reprint, in a set DEVOTED TO KOZILEK, is like having a set called "Hey, Let's All Go to the Blinkmoths and See What We Find" and not including Serum Visions.
January 11, 2016 9:17 p.m.
0/1 Plant with the same art as the DZE tokens? We might see an Avenger of Zendikar reprint! Also, does anyone still prefer Messenger's Speed over the new card Extredite? (Costs , Instant, gives a creature haste, then let's you draw a card)
January 11, 2016 9:26 p.m.
Serendipitous_Hummingbird Maro addressed this... and he doesn't give a fuck.
Oh well.

Serendipitous_Hummingbird: All colored Eldrazi related cards in this set had devoid, so inquisition wouldn't fit in very well anyway.
January 11, 2016 9:37 p.m.
I get your point, but the card is very good so I can see why they wouldn't reprint it. Standard is actually fun when the best discard spell in the format is Duress

ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #33
Right, but WOTC's supposed 'reprint policy' was kinda put in place to prevent exactly what is happening. Whatever, I just got the last card that I need for my deck until my decklist changes, and I don't foresee any expensive changes in the near future, so it doesn't affect me much other than preventing other people from entering the format.
January 11, 2016 11:38 p.m. Edited.
What do you guys think of black decks with 4x Duress and some Transgress the Mind? Good or simply a wasted turn? I've yet to acquire much experience with either but I have to image that they can make a huge impact on the game, and if you whiff, it probably means that you have the all-clear, right?
January 11, 2016 11:42 p.m.
They really hold strength early game and on sideboard for when you know a few of the person's tricks the next game. Regardless, taking the gamble (and some people just have a poor poker face) and paying or even for a preemptive removal of anything is gold.
January 11, 2016 11:58 p.m.
In that case, anyone mind taking a look at my Golgari Ramp [ROGUE] Deck? I may need some help with it, and I think it's niche is a bit more specific than that of other ramp deck, in terms of resiliency and more mid game tempo.

So prerelease is taking place this weekend.
Any tips? What archetypes/cards should I look out for?
Also first post \m/
January 12, 2016 9:25 a.m.
Tips? Uhm, go Eldrazi. The new Ally mechanic is only good in pretty grindy match-ups where incremental advantages will win you the game- and that's not the kind of game allies want to play. Green isn't looking as bad as BFZ's, so that's fairly open, but in general, U/R, just like in BFZ, is probably the way to go.
January 12, 2016 9:30 a.m.
Tips for prerelease? I'd say try to go to a 2HG prerelease and play Surge with your buddy.
If not, I think UW, UR, BG, RG and BW are the most viable roads to go (obviously it all depends on what cards you get).
Of those combinations I think BG or UW might be the strongest/most consistant things to play.
January 12, 2016 10 a.m.
Very true, with all the color fixing 5 color good stuff is always a good option! This set is crazy because players will be playing both multi color and some might be completly colorless!
January 12, 2016 10:11 a.m.
Have you all already talked about Mina and Denn, Wildborn? I wonder if this would make it into RG landfall deck. Would it be way too janky?

The_Raven, I have actually been brewing with them a bit in a R/G ramp build that focuses on Omnath, Locus of Rage. They seem pretty fun though not really sure how competitive this deck will turn out to be.
Take a look if you want: The Environmental Protection Agency

This is one of the first standard decks I've made, and it's a concept for now. I love eldrazis. More than dead
January 12, 2016 3:12 p.m.
As I suspected that Jori En, Ruin Diver is better than people thought.
She doesn't let you draw every turn, but in an aggro build she gives you enough draw to make a difference, especially if you pair her with something like Jhessian Thief.

Rasta_Viking29 says... #48
So I'm playing / Eldrazi Ramp and I have noticed that it might be better to be / playing more wastes and splashing forests. Ruin in Their Wake seems great if you can play enough wastes and Explosive Vegetation is really the only non devoid green spell that is important. Warping Wail seems important as a way to stop Infinite Obliteration and ramp. The fact that it is good against aggro is a nice bonus.

I'm Sorry, What Color?s do you guys think are good.
January 12, 2016 7:16 p.m.
Can we discuss Reality Smasher being the new rhino?
It can attack the same turn as Rhino, has trample and an extra point of power, and protects itself. Very, very solid.

Lol that's what happens when you don't bother to check Gatherer!
Still, there are some cases like Vines of Vastwood. So the moral of the story children is always check Gatherer!
