It's good, but it isn't $15. It should definitely drop.

Remember Natural State and how it wasn't considered that good because of Splinter Twin?

It is done. -WotC customer service

you guys think Kozilek's Return will drop more? its definitely an awesome card, but 20 something dollars?

PenguinTaskForce - That all depends. Will it see play at the (Modern) Pro Tour? Will it see consistent play in Standard? Will it see maindeck play in Standard? These are just a few of the questions you need to answer to see whether Kozilek's Return is worth the $20 pricetag.

January 21, 2016 2:42 p.m.

JWiley129 good point, it is good enough that it will probably see all of that... or at least i see it that way. that being said, i guess i just dont want to pay that tag for it haha.

I don't think it will do much in standard. I don't see the reason instant speed would make it better than radiant flames extra damage or flaying tendrils exile (which will be great against rally). And the only deck that will get the trigger is R/G ramp, for which it is a shot in the foot because it kills your ramp creatures.

Yeah, Kozilek's Return is unlikely to see terribly heavy play in standard.

Modern Tron and Bx Eldrazi, though.... That's a different story.

Also, even though thought knot doesn't seem great for standard, modern eldrazi might be able to use him very well. Playing him turn 2 must be amazing

Can you even imagine if Kozilek's Return did 3 damage the first time around? It would be $40.00 easy because then everybody could use it to kill annoying things like Offshoot and Mantis Rider in addition to the Jaces... the "flashback" wouldn't even matter to a lot of decks if it dealt 3 damage lol.

Kroto says... #10

If Kozilek's Return did 3 instead of 2 it would cost either three generic or one Red and one generic more.

I think Kozilek's Return will be prized by dual colour decks not running . Especially all the I am seeing around.

Nightdragon779 I was literally working on that combo earlier. I have to figure out how to do it. I just think it would be so funny

Note: EpicFreddi I'm pretty sure soulfire doesn't work because the spell doesn't deal the damage. :/

January 26, 2016 9:43 p.m. Edited.

Minelia5 The main problem is keeping Zada alive until you pull off the combo. She's in bolt's range and has no evasion. The easiest way to avoid her death is too play her on turn 9 along with Arcbond, Angel's Grace and a bolt or something like that, which is way too slow. When you're done with the deck, post it here, I'm interested to see if it will work.

As far as I know, there's no effect that says "Target creature cannot be destroyed this turn" unless you found a way to infinitely regenerate it.

Camel-Senpai says... #21

I guess you could use Athreos, God of Passage and find a way to get an infinite red mana combo going.

January 26, 2016 11:10 p.m.

Camel-Senpai says... #22

I think I figured it out.

  1. So you start off with Angel's Grace

  2. Play Zada, Hedron Grinder and throw on Arcbond

  3. Throw down Avacyn, Angel of Hope or something similar

  4. Combo out something like Ashnod's Altar, Nim Deathmantle, and Grave Titan for infinite mana.

  5. Swallowing Plague for the finishing touch.

The main problem I see with this is that it takes 5 W, 1 R, and 5 B to make this combo work in one turn.

Nightdragon779 here it is so far. It needs improvement, and it should have a description by the end of the day.

I think people forgot about Boros Charm... make your creatures indestructible.

With Zada, it can also be used to give all your creatures Double Strike.

For Standard, I'm looking at trying Arcbond with Visions of Brutality.

Visions works as a pseudo removal until you can get Arcbond + any burn for a load of damage to the creatures controller.

Oh, damn. I've caused a comment storm (not to be confused with Comet Storm).

As far as I can tell, Bearer of Silence is really good in playtests.
