So it appears that we're getting some enemy colored pain lands in the upcoming core set. Thoughts?

Shivan Reef , Llanowar Wastes , Caves of Koilos , Battlefield Forge , Yavimaya Coast

This feels very weird. I was under the impression that Wizards stated multiple times that they would be avoiding rare dual lands in core sets? And that they wouldn't print half a land cycle in a core set either? Will Khans still have a land cycle?

I agree kmcree, I also remember both of those things being stated. However, enemy lands for a potential enemy colored set does seem pretty good.

Maybe they are only going the 5 in core sets because they're new player based? And their original sentiment had been to not print all the duals in a single set because it's a turn off for new players? Not sure, but that's really the only reasoning that I have.

I'm happy about these being printed. They are a really good budget land for modern decks and will be decent replacements for the shocks once they rotate out. Until the shocks rotate though I could see these being fairly cheap and easy to pick up.

I guess Shivan Reef doesn't need to be an $8 card, so there's that.

I don't even care about these because there's no Sulfurous Springs . Hopefully we get those in the fall.

They did say they were going to avoid dual lands in core sets, but perhaps that philosophy wasn't instated yet for the M15 core set. They do work on design a few years ahead after all.

It's cool that it's the enemy lands, instead of allies. I like that a lot. Enemy colors just make for more interesting decks, I think. I'm sure they'll end up printing the allied colors in Tarkir block. Maybe not in Khans, but eventually.

Sweet my American deck needed mana fixing and M15 delivered.

Do you guy think these lands are going to drop in price?

They're already pretty cheap...

Drop? Aren't they already cheaper than the Temples?

Khans of Tarkir technically can't have the allied pain lands. For example Adarkar Wastes and Karplusan Forest are flavorwise tied to Dominaria not Tarkir

He stated in the article that Khans block will be getting a full 10 dual lands.
