This is my prediction. One deck based off of each of the origin's planes.
Except Planechase would have been released at the same time MM15 would have been released. I won't object to another Planechase product, but I consider it unlikely.
Magicrafter - Except Commander is a yearly product now.

It's confirmed yearly? Maybe we see 4c decks this fall...
June 3, 2015 1:45 p.m.
Magicrafter definitely not 4 color commander decks. They will probably do 2 color decks.

I was saying a product to come out after M16/origins.

There are enough similarities between Planechase and Commander that one product can serve as the other. Just throw in some legendary creatures into each Planechase deck and, BOOM!, new Commanders.

Oh yeah, they haven't done 2c decks. So, they're probably doing 2c decks for 15 and 16, so maybe 4c for 17 :P

meecht - Planechase is not similar enough to Commander to replace it.
canterlotguardian - As much as that would please people, MaRo has said they won't go back and errata them to be legendary.
Didgeridooda - Unfortunately there just isn't enough space for that in the calendar for the Wizards release schedule.

Fuck MaRo. What's the harm in that? Errata them to Legendary, then reprint them as Commanders.

That is too bad. It seems that something like that would fit perfectly there.
June 3, 2015 2:11 p.m.
canterlotguardian - Because they no longer do functional errata to cards. They want all versions of printed cards to do the same thing as all other printed versions. If you want an example of confusing errata, go look up the history of Winter Orb.

JWiley129 - I just looked it up and learned that Planechase decks are typically 60-card. The only time I've ever played with Plane cards was when people wanted to do Planechase EDH.
My bad.
June 3, 2015 2:29 p.m.
meecht - It's fine. the confusion probably came up due to some popular commanders from Planechase sets: Maelstrom Wanderer, Vela the Night-Clad, etc.
Also, Planechase Commander is an exercise in patience.

I'm hoping for 4-colored decks. Because everything else exists already and gets boring. There is lots of stuff for colorless, monocolor, 2-color, 3-color and 5-color, but except for the nephilim, there are no 4-colored cards, which is sad, as it would have so much potential to kick ass, hating a specific color.

The problem with 4-colour is that it is v. hard to design for. It's basically defined by the colour it's not, and when you already have 4-colour, why not just go 5? It's not particularly distinct enough as a colour identity to make many workable designs around, and even the Nephilim themselves you could argue can happily lop off some of its colours or just add the fifth missing one and it would still make sense mechanically or flavourfully,

People just want four color to splash the missing color in their favourite three color deck.
Archenemy Planechase EDH...

I think by Wizards not doing this, they are missing out on a great way to tie in this sort of project with the in-print game.

MagicalHacker says... #22
Why not just errata them to be legal as commanders? See the planeswalker commanders for examples of this.
June 3, 2015 7:32 p.m.
With 4-colored cards you could design an anti-color deck giving protection from the color you dont play and copying it's key mechanic; like RUGB 4 mana legendary creature that has 4/4, protection from white and vigilance. This would be very nice to have in standart, commander, planechase, archenemy. Screw 5-color, it's so overused.

MagicalHacker: May I point you to the conversation we had earlier.
June 3, 2015 7:43 p.m.
Didgeridooda says... #25
That would be an EDH rules commission decision, not a Wizards' errata issue.

It's not a functional change except for it being a commander. With that errata on the card, it makes sense why it wasn't there when it was printed in Ravnica. As for the RC discussing it, meh. They wouldn't like it is what I'd imagine.
HolyFalcon says... #2
Maybe planechase this year instead of Commander?
