For those Lily fans who have not yet watched this soul crushing video... WotS's official trailer. Seems we may be saying goodbye to one of the best characters to grace the pages/cards of MTG history.
I'm not worried about Lili at all.
She knows what it takes to ignite as an Old 'Walker.

I think we're going to see a lot of walkers die in this set, so Liliana dying is not a huge surprise. I always found her character and personality annoying, but she's been getting more likeable since Shadows over Innistrad.
But that music choice though... My girlfriend doesn't even play Magic but she thought that the trailer was amazing based just on that.

If she dies for real she won't stay dead for long. In my opinion if this is the first act of the war where Bolas manages to win or he loses the battle but technically he managed to do something that makes that victory basically meaningless for the gatewach she may die for real. Then in that scenario they are going to make her come back somehow. Bolas is not the only one good with shenanigans, his twin Ugin may pull out one of his tricks. Also Sorin knows a thing or two about immortality so he can come in handy. And Karn is another i think can come up with something. If instead this is the final act where bolas loses the war and ends up dying/being severely underpowered they'll still may have some trick to save her immediately.

Liliana easily is my favorite walker Lore-wise at this point... If she betrays bolas/voids her contract and goes out in a "redemption blaze of glory" then I HOPE they keep her dead/gone forever.
However; I imagine that she wont die/stay dead due to the untapped potential for a story arch through the Raven man... perhaps she will emerge from this contract free and blah blah blah.... idk i just think it would be a fitting end for One of the Greatest Planswalkers ever to topple Bolas.

I'll admit I got choked up watching it. I'm both sad at her loss and so proud of her.
I was just hoping she'd hold up her hand, showing her oath as she turned.
