Anyone got any guesses as to what her color identity could be? I'm really hoping for UR myself, but I could see her as mono red or mono blue

Hey guys, just noticed this. If you throw Saheli into a Hindi (cause Kaladesh is based off of India) to English translator, it translates to Girlfriend or Female Friend...

How are you seeing "way more UW"? When I see a woman in a UR outfit, gathering mana for something that looks like Lightning Strike, I can think anything but UR! :-)

I find it interesting that people perceive things totally differently. It's kinda cool. As soon as I saw her, I immediately thought . No questions. It would be nice to see a UR walker, but the art just isn't convincing me. Origins will rotate when this releases so saying the UR Thopter mechanic is not a good reason.

I always assumed Kaladesh was a and heavy plane. We got only one white card Consul's Lieutenant, and only one green card Caustic Caterpillar pertaining to Kaladesh. But we have tons of blue and red cards. Also, we might see a Tamiyo in Eldritch Moon. If we do Saheeli would have to be to balance out the colors.

@clayperce - I'm not sure where you're getting Lightning Strike from. There's two spires behind her and she appears to be constructing something similar to them on a small scale. The energy they're sapping looks more like wisps of mana than lightning. They look almost serene, especially how their color gently fades into the background color of the sky.
I dunno. To me, she looks very calm and exhibits none of the passion and impulsiveness of red. Heck, her appearance share's a lot of similarities to the people of Meletis and even Ephara herself.

As for her color, she does not look red, to me, so I shall predict that she is blue and white, since the game needs a new white/blue planeswalker, with Venser being dead.

We have Narset. Maybe Tamiyo will become . The last planeswalker we had was Ral Zarek, if I am not mistaken. It does not seem correct to make her flavor wise, but I would take it.

Why not a W/R/U planeswalker?
Im guessing that because Im going to guess she will be one of the planeswalkers in one of the first "Planewalker deck". They said that those Planeswalkers in those decks are going to be expensive to cast but pay off when they do happen.

How do you think the price of those walkers will be? If they are expensive and meant to be mass produced, I hope that I could buy a playset for a few bucks... Be real nice with a few Explosive Vegetation.

The more I think about it though I doubt they will make it three colors because they will want the Planeswalker deck more intro-y so three colors might be a problem with newer players

Well a couple things to remember about Kaladesh where Saheeli Rai is located. It's Chandra's home plane and very central to her story. So we'll probably get another Red Chandra in Kaladesh. Saheeli Rai translates to "Friend of the King" and if you know anything about Chandra's origin story she was anything but. So with Tamiyo filling the 
or 
slot... I'm thinking just or maybe even a 
if she isn't artifact centric. Based on what little we know from Chandra's story my prediction is
Kaladesh Prediction (Nothing Confirmed) Show
Those are just my thoughts based on Chandra's new origin story released with Magic Origins called "Fire Logic"

Yes, Kaladesh in Origins was 
, but that was just a particular snapshot of Kaladesh that fit the archetype that WOTC eeded it to fit, so I think it is highly likely that she is considering her clothing and the passive way she is holding herself. I don't think she will be three colour, just because I think three colour planeswalkers is something that WOTC should reserve for special characters like Bolas (because he's crazy old and crazy evil) and Sarkhan (because time travel shenanigans).

The central theme to the set is exploring your imagination and inventing so I would think that she will fit that theme. It could also be interesting if she is a pw who is fully integrated into the society like Jace, Ral Zarek, and Gideon are on Ravnica. Maybe she even holds a position of authority.
Or this idea: she is an inventor and will be on the rebel side of the aether revolt.

It makes the most sense to see her as UR because of the UR artifact archetype in origins. Mono blue would be really cool though cuz we have blue red, Dack Fayden, mono red, Daretti, Scrap Savant.
