The newest Sliver has been spoiled! Go here, cause my phone can't do pictures!
And Lightning Strike is being reprinted as well.
Discuss!
I dont like that they are doing slivers AGAIN they just did them in m14. Now this doesnt mean that they are going to print all the slivers now but then those cards that are spoiled are useless? Idk....I dont like it personally.

The sliver part at least. I am fine with Lightning Strike (though i preferred Searing Spear )

Yes!! Sometimes, you're just target practice. Boom! Ignominious ends are really on-flavor with burns.
Though it would suck to get struck with a bolt of lightning "randomly," lol

The reason why they are reprinting Lightning Strike instead of of Searing Spear is because spear was a flavor foul. Red fire based spell are always sorcery while lightning spells are instant.
As for the Sliver, i know some people are upset that WotC are printing more Slivers, but there are people who like Slivers and unless they make a block designed for Slivers, Core set are te only set they can release them.

I have zero problems being allowed to chuck a hot stick at instant speed.

"why am I shooting lightning through my own arm oh gods I am not very good at this" - Keranos
Nobody wants two inferior lightning Bolts running around in standard. Searing Spear would replace the Shocks in each and every burn deck, making life miserable for peoples life totals.
Lightning Strike might not be the most exiting thing, but it's amazing for limited. We haven't had the pleasure of a cheap 3 damage spell in M14, so I welcome this card.
Spear has better art though.

From what I hear slivers are coming back, again, because people were unsatisfied with the slivers in M14. There wasn't a big bomb mythic sliver and people were upset with the human look of the slivers. So wizards is printing 4 (?) uncommon slivers and a mythic. It's just what I've heard around tumblr ect.
I personally am excited, more slivers = better Sliver edh decks. Though I do fear it'll make Sliver Queen go up in price before I can re-purchase her.

I like it, a tad on the expensive side. But it strangles stuff!

Slivers in M15 are not because people were unsatisfied with them in M14...
Wizards generally develop sets close to 2 years in advance. This means that they had been developing M15 before they released M14... it also means that M15 was likely in (or at least close to) the printing stage before they were certain of peoples reactions to M14 Slivers.

Like I said it was just what I had heard. Either way I'm happy. More sliver.

Why are they reprinting Lightning Strike if it was just in Theros?
June 27, 2014 8:52 a.m.
They needed a Red burn spell of that power level for Draft, and didn't want to have too many in Standard.
Reprinting this does exactly that.
They do this from time to time... They did the same thing with Giant Growth in RtR.

That being said they wanted the slivers to work alone in limited and not be forced into a sliver theme deck. I really like this guys ability and think he is playable din a limited format.

I thought Searing Spear fit the flavour in Theros and should have been used for the block and just be our new 1R 3 damage spell from here on in.
The name of Lightning Strike should have been saved for something else as it is a great name for a card, and being used as a functional reprint is sad.
