Well this isn't a Cultivate , but it's close to a Burnished Hart .
Pretty good for mono and 2-color decks imo.
Would have been interesting if not for the "basic land" clause.

Burnished Hart is better because you don't need to tap it and it works in reanimation strategies. This land is a bit too slow for my taste.

you guys never heard of Krosan Verge ?
verge was better as it allowed for mana fixing, but mana ramp that doesn't cost a spell slot is very good. this is great in commander decks that don't play ramp colors.

I was wondering why it was worded the way it was... then I realized that you can get a basic land and it's Snow-covered counterpart... (i.e.: Mountain
and Snow-Covered Mountain
)
If they were to have stated "Two basic lands with the same name", this would not be possible.

It's a decent generic version of Krosan Verge (minus the ability to grab shocklands). More options are always nice.

jr92_2000 - I think you mean it would've been INSANE if it wasn't for "basic land" clause. "Sure, I'll sac my Myriad Landscape and grab my Temple Garden and Sacred Foundry tapped EOT." That's WAAAY too good.

@JWiley129 Would it really be too good? You're waiting at least one turn and paying two mana to do it.

jr92_2000 - I'm not saying that would make it Legacy playable, but grabbing both an Underground Sea and a Volcanic Island for 2 mana and sac 1 land seems good. Even if they ETB tapped.

@JWiley129 Yeah, it would be quite good. I don't think it would be busted if it could grab the duals though (given the time and mana requirements).
The card just looks nerfed to hell by including the basic land clause. I could see them being careful if this were going into a standard set, but this is EDH/legacy/vintage only.

Crucible of Worlds just found a new best friend...
...and with various Landfall abilities, it could be insane.
I think that's the reason for limiting it to Basic Lands.
Besides, they are being released in mono-color commander decks, so I think the Basic Land concept is on-theme.

If your deck absolutely requires the untapped mana every turn, and runs no basics, this card is too slow or too bad to be playable. In nearly every other case, it's a pretty good card. I'd slot it into mono-blue and -white decks, and maybe a slightly slower red one, in a heartbeat.
Pretty obviously not gonna define Legacy play, but it's nice in Commander.

Pretty darn slow though, comes in tapped and by paying "three" mana you're netting one tapped land.
