On a phone right now so I can't post the images, but go here.
"As Zendikar has bled, so will innistrad. As I have bled, so will Sorin." -Nahiri" Well, shit.
February 6, 2016 10:43 a.m.
NecroPony I'm guessing this set is about a WR Nahiri seeking revenge against Sorin, and as a result Innistrad.
February 6, 2016 10:45 a.m.
Revenge for what though? I hope the gatewatch comes and saves my precious plane.

If Nahiri's now the antagonist and the earlier description of SOI claimed there was a "new great danger to the multiverse" (or something like that), might she attempt to lure Emrakul to Innistrad to get revenge of Sorin?

ducttapedeckbox where did you see Madness? I didn't see that anywhere in those spoilers.
February 6, 2016 10:54 a.m.
canterlotguardian in the red Fiery Temper. Turns it into a lightning bolt.

Looks like someone didn't learn their lesson about leaking cards.
February 6, 2016 11:04 a.m.
Nahiri's quote is on a red card... is it reasonable to assume they may make her a planeswalker?

Investigate seems like a cool ability. Not exactly cantripping, but still gives you a way to draw cards. I really hope there is some sweet one drop one that can slot into affinity.
Super happy about werewolves being back. Also notice the wolf token. Huntmaster of the Fells Flip reprint incoming? Although I know it's for that wolf that makes the wolf token.
Madness. Yes yes yes! Madness is sweet, and I'm very happy we are getting some more of it.
Delirium seems a bit meh to me. It should still be cool, but I don't see it doing too much.
February 6, 2016 11:07 a.m.
I thought that werewolves were turned into wolfir like in Wolfir Avenger

They did. Wonder what the explanation for it is. Maybe it missed some.
February 6, 2016 11:18 a.m.
You know what investigate reminds me of? Call of Cthulhu. Here's hoping for some lovecraftian horror!

Stupid lens flare on the card. Totally missed it. Now all I need is for Wizards to bring back Threshold and my mechanic fix will be complete.
February 6, 2016 11:22 a.m.
HavokX - Exactly this. All the mechanics hint at a large Lovecraftian theme. Delirium? Madness? Investigate? All things that people do in Lovecraftian horror. If that's the theme they're going for, they sure chose damn good names for these mechanics.
February 6, 2016 11:23 a.m.
I'm hype for Madness -- Might actually work well with everybody's favourite Planeswalker, Tibalt.
More Devils? Yes please.
Also, Nahiri being a big ol' grump about Sorin leaving Zendi to die -- Wasn't he going to look for her anyway? Does that mean she's been on Innistrad since he's been bopping all over the Multiverse?
Delirium seems like a nice Goyf substitute -- Wonder how that'll go down in modern. Wonder what a rare or mythic delirium creature will be like?
The insanity and mystery theme seems really nice.
February 6, 2016 11:36 a.m.
There's an ability called "Skulk" (this creature can't be blocked by creatures with greater power)
Also, there will be 24 flip cards.

Maybe nahiri is full blown rakdos now. Driven mad by coming into contact with emurkul. It almost happened to drana, it DID happen to kalitas.
February 6, 2016 11:41 a.m.
Ooh, flip cards:
Daring Sleuth
Kindly Stranger (LOL)
Skin Invasion (An enchantment?)
Town Gossipmonger
Autumnal Gloom (Again, an enchantment?)
February 6, 2016 11:45 a.m.
I'd prefer to see a Boros Nahiri, but we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm also a bit sad I don't see any named characters on the DFC tip card. No DFC legendaries or Planeswalkers it seems :/

Honestly though, please let there be very little if any actual elrazi in this set. I'd prefer if the story centered around stopping nahiri from summoning emurkul instead of just suceedingb them and repeat the events that just went down with zendikar.
February 6, 2016 11:53 a.m.
I agree; As cool as it is to think about the stitchers creating zombie eldrazi and seeing people possessed by the creatures, Lovecraft best used his creations as a lingering threat, not fully-embodied things. If anyone did see an elder thing, they went mad and often died soon after.
With the eldrazi, they're just corrosive in general. You don't need loads and loads of them in the set, it would take away from the gothic charm of Innistrad. The better story, as you say, is Nahiri trying to summon Emrakul rather than him just being there with a legion.
Set 2 we'll see an Emrakul, most likely, to round off the trio, but the less in the set we have, the better.
February 6, 2016 11:59 a.m.
So, it looks like Nahiri is the antagonist here. How ironic. I'm guessing Jace meets up with Sorin, and it will be a case of Jace and Sorin vs. Nahiri.
Maybe Tibalt is plot-relevant this time? Maybe in the second set, Tamiyo joins the Gatewatch (she was on Innistrad last time we saw her)?
February 6, 2016 12:11 p.m.
Well seeing Nahiri again and in full on fury mode is a pleasant surprise. It would be interesting to see if she does in fact lure Emrakul to Innistrad as some sort of pay back. I'm hoping this block does not lead to the end of Innistrad though. While I don't need to see it for a while after this block, it is too juicy of a flavor plane to just leave in ruins.
Heck yes werewolves! I'm praying that we will finally see the elusive R/G legendary werewolf so I can get my EDH on with my favorite tribe!
That blue zombie looks interesting and between cards like Corpse Churn and Screeching Skaab, zombie tribal is shaping up to be a thing again. Plus, there's a lord in the form of Risen Executioner.
I'm seeing something called Falkenrath Heir on the double sided card list so I'm guessing we'll be seeing at least one flip Vampire. Hopefully we can see some strong tribes begin to form with this block and BFZ block.
February 6, 2016 1:45 p.m.
I'm curious to see if we will also see a Standard legal print of Stitcher Geralf or the necro-alchemist, Ludevic?

I like the booster pack art for Jace....almost looks like he grew a weird blue goatee
So we know Jace is going to be there; any other guess if the other 3 gatewatchers are going to be there or is Jace going at it alone.
He's also been gone from Ravnica a while.....wonder if civil war has started there
February 6, 2016 1:52 p.m.
AgentGreen - The Zendikar art book says that Jace goes to Innistrad alone looking for Sorin & Nahiri while Gideon, Chandra, and Nissa clean up the remaining Eldrazi Spawn on Zendikar.

Pack Guardian looks quite fantastic. You get rid of your dead draws and manage a two-for-one (both of which are solid bodies). The new Bolt is definitely going to fit somewhere too.

SWEET FUCKING JESUS I LOVE THIS SET OMFG
Dies of hype stroke
In all seriousness though I want this set now. Oath didn't excite me as much as this. Time for Sorin and Nahiri to reconcile and maybe for Avacyn to be revealed as Nahiri.
February 6, 2016 2:10 p.m.
Avacyn isn't Nahiri. Stop trying to make fetch happen.
February 6, 2016 2:12 p.m.
If you want Jace to be "OP" with Madness, just hope that Circular Logic gets reprinted.
February 6, 2016 2:18 p.m.
Hell no, I'm not dealing with that.
And this is a blue player speaking.

Invasive Surgery looks nuts. Great anti-Thoughtseize tech.
Rest of the cards look Meh...
February 6, 2016 2:39 p.m.
They literally opened a booster pack of 10 commons, 3 uncommons, and 1 rare. There's no way all the cards in the pack would be amazing...
February 6, 2016 2:41 p.m.
Wonder what Emrakul's going to do. Hope it's just as awesome as the original.
February 6, 2016 2:43 p.m.
Can we please stop with the "Emrakul's in SOI!". Stop trying to make fetch happen, please!

Does anyone else love the flavor on Watcher in the Web?
February 6, 2016 2:45 p.m.
That quote from Nahiri on Structural Distortion...
HYPE!!!

So it looks like Madness is back, as well as getting two new mechanics revealed:
Delirium, which makes stuff happen as long as there are four card types in your graveyard. Eerily similar to Tarmogoyf.
Investigate, which puts an artifact onto the battlefield with , Sacrifice this artifact: draw a card.
Interesting.
EDIT: Flip cards too? Ehh.
If these are even real.
February 6, 2016 10:42 a.m. Edited.
