Spawn of Thraxes good?

even thou is costly i can see this being casted in a mono red deck either with devotion or not and deal 5 or more damage to either kill a creature or to deal the final blow to your opponent i also like it because you get a benefit right away in case it will be Doom Blade ed
what you guys think about this?
For 7, it should of had haste honestly. Want a foil for Melek EDH but outside that, meh.

I agree with DaggerV. For 7 mana, I would expect it to be a 4/4 with Flying and Haste so it could at least be a finisher.

Mono red is more agro (devotion or not) and it costing 7 mana for what it does, not really that good.

Personally, I don't like it. Outside of Limited, definitely. In Limited (which I know almost nothing about, so correct me if I'm wrong), I could see it as a finisher if someone feels the need to play mono-red or mostly red.
Also, I think the art looks like your stepmother getting slapped after guzzling her wine at a dinner party, but maybe that's just me...

I like the art and in mono red this is going to cast 7 red mana. So now you are getting deal 7 damage to opponent. Or.
Turn 4 purphorosTurn 5xenagosTurn 6 somethingTurn 7 drop him deal 2 damage from purphy.deal 4 damage through ability. And haste attack with xenagods ability striking for 16 in total. Certainly viable in each no?

In Limited, this will be a bomb. Mono-color is doable with the right cards, and if you can go mono-red with this guy as a curve-topper, you're easily doing 7 damage to the face.
If you're REALLY lucky and also able to get a Dictate of the Twin Gods (the damage doubler with flash), you're doing 14 damage to your opponent.
