Spoiled Eldrazi, yay or nay?

I do agree that the eldrazi in this set have expensive mana costs, which is why eldrazi players may run cards to get around this. What are your thoughts so far on the newly spoiled eldrazi? My own opinion is that eldrazi temur will certainly become a thing once khans block rotates out. (I'm also thinking of Animar, Soul of Elements for eldrazi edh)
Well, I am a huge fan of eldrazi, bfz is my first time using them. My idea for temur eldrazi in general is to find ways to cast expensive eldrazi spells for as little as possible. Some of the latest eldrazi like Endbringer (I think that's its name), would be fantastic if you can find ways to lower its cmc. I think standard eldrazi titans will be only useful if there's more ways to make casting them easier, like From Beyond and Herald of Kozilek. (Those two cards are what also inspired me to think of using temur colors)

The new lands Hideout Settlement and Crumbling Vestige will help with getting the 3 color mana fix and the Waste mana. There is also Unknown Shores, which you could sac Scions to activate.

I think that the new Eldrazi are split.
For example, I'm not too keen on Worldbreaker, but I like Endbringer.
I don't like the new Kozilek at all...
So, in all, 1/3 of the currently spoiled Eldrazi are, in my opinion, worth my money.

Ravolt EDHNUT. I don't like the new kozilek either, I loved Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, because it was exciting, and overpowered, which eldrazi titans should be. Kozilek (I was just about to try and link it...) is dull...

xavrr I actually think the opposite. I think Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger is dull and new Kozilek is super awesome. I think Kozilek's abilities are actually stronger than Newlamog's. It doesn't blow something up upon cast. But he does draw you a ton of cards which can then be used to deny your opponent any responses to him spare something like Supreme Verdict. A repeatable and less restrictive Disrupting Shoal on big beefy legs seems pretty stronk to me.

TheDuggernaughtI know what you mean, but I don't think kozilek's abillities are as 'cool', although they may be better

On Temur Eldrazi...
I have a temur eldrazi deck, and a lot of the ramp cards, and really most of the 'key utillity] cards are in khans...
I love the Animar, Soul of Elements idea though!

xavrr yeah, I first thought of Surrak Dragonclaw but realized his ability was useless for eldrazi, and then thought of Sliver Queen, she's decent and allows 5 colors, but doesn't have any early game. Then I remembered when someone used Kozilek, Butcher of Truth after they had used a combo to get infinite counters onto animar. After remembering it, I realized it would solve the high mana cost problem eldrazi titans have.

Atm my eldrazi deck (bfz only) is red blue, but I definetly plan on turning it into temur :D
December 19, 2015 2:52 p.m.
It just seems too... blue, and dull to be an awesome colorless eldrazi titan. ESPECIALLY after Ulamog.
December 19, 2015 7:19 p.m.
my eldrazi deck is actually Sultai...Green for rampy, land-grabby goodness, blue for Spell Shrivel and Anticipate, and black for Culling Drone and Fathom Feeder... not complete, VERY SHORT ON REMOVAL... needs work. but it is fun as all hell to drop Desolation Twin, Breaker of Armies, and Bane of Bala Ged one right after the other...
December 19, 2015 8:18 p.m.
EDHNUT well I guess u gotta like blue to use new kozilek. I myself am trying to get used to using blue, since the first legendary creature I ever got had blue in its color identity. Anyway, new kozilek in Animar soul of elements will be interesting. Do you want to cast your creatures or use them to counter your opponent's spells? O_O I just realized new Kozilek synergizes with madness.

Anyway, depending on the new eldrazi, I may wanna go midrange animar. Cascade would definitely help animar eldrazi out, right?
December 20, 2015 5:22 a.m.
It has to be a great feeling to cascade into a Newlamog...
December 20, 2015 7:28 a.m.
Well, I found out cascade doesn't work with animar since cards like animar don't reduce the actual cost of the card but rather the total amount I spend.
December 20, 2015 7:56 a.m.
Even though I can't cascade into new ulamog, there is another way for me to "cascade", Possibility Storm
December 20, 2015 8 a.m.
Me too :D
It's a great deterrent against control, as well as any players unprepared for that card.
December 20, 2015 8:14 a.m.
I just love the idea of flashing it into lay somehow... That sounds like fun...
December 20, 2015 8:19 a.m.
you just gave me a great idea :D
Temur leylines need to be in the deck :D
December 20, 2015 8:25 a.m.
December 20, 2015 8:26 a.m.
Hee hee... Evil stuff is afoot...
Mind if I build a Progenitus EDH deck based off this concept?
December 20, 2015 8:26 a.m.
Thanks, I want to be able to include Maelstrom Nexus. :)

Non-combo Animar is already a deck filled with eldrazi and other colorless creatures. The problem is that the only thing you are paying for your colored creatures most of the time is the color component so colorless producing lands become useless rather quickly. Adding a fourth type of mana that you need to produce doesn't seem good for "fair" Animar.
December 20, 2015 8:46 a.m.
It doesn't have to be Animar... All it has to do is perform a few stupid tricks that makes the game more enjoyable... A deck into which you put Possibility Storm is probably not going to be a competative deck...
December 20, 2015 8:50 a.m.
I believe I have just found my solution, Kruphix, God of Horizons is definetly more eldrazi friendly than animar.
December 20, 2015 8:53 a.m.
My primary thinking is that eldrazi love blue and green ramp/support, plus with kruphix turning mana into colorless, free <> <> <> ...

Animar just doesn't seem to be the right fit for a deck wanting to produce colorless. There is a difference between not competitive and not able to cast spells. I like Kruphix much more since it allows you to convert colored mana to colorless. You lose Possibility Storm since you drop red but it seems to be a much more consistent way to cast all eldrazi including the Oath ones.

I am not a fan of the new Eldrazi for the most part. The whole ingest/processor mechanic feels way too clunky to me. The titans are underwhelming for the most part too. Ulamog is kind of neat, but I prefer the old version of Kozilek.

I would say the Tri-Color decks are dead after khans block rotates out. No tripplelands and fetches hit everything that's more than two colors.
Fur the eldrazi part: Which eldrazi did you have in mind? Or do you mean the arctype eldrazi in general?
