But apparently there will be no full arts in the Holiday Gift Box. Meh.

I believe it is also confirmed they will be the same arts as well, correct?

JakeHarlow where will they be getting the land for the gift box then? Surely they're not going to be going all the way back to Origins land?

Thanks for the information, but you are pretty late. That was posted 6 days agoago...

Named_Tawyny, they'll use the BFZ regular scale art basics, as seen here. They also use these in the intro packs.

I had no idea those even existed! It seems like printing non-full art basics here just adds to their costs. Strange, but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

I really wish they had gotten Jon Avon to do a cycle of the basics like the original Zendikar

They did non-full art basics in intro packs in the original Zendikar as well. They're actually more rare than the full arts, hilariously enough. But yeah, holiday gift box and all intro packs will not have full arts. It's not that they don't know what they're doing, they just don't want people to frenzy over intro packs just for their basic lands like they have with BFZ fat packs.

Also, I strongly second Camper116. I have a foil full-art John Avon mountain from the original Zendikar. Nothing will ever beat John Avon full art lands.

Just back to add in my 2 cents in agreement that John Avon ABSOLUTELY should have been given another go. He didn't even get any of the reprint cycle :(

I wouldn't be so upset about it if I felt the new artists had created pieces of the same caliber, but in the end I suppose it's all subjective. Still, You'd think someone so known for making lands - specifically full-art ones - would be a prime target when deciding to create further ones.

I'm not certain how they decided who the artists for each lands were, but it would be so cool to have the same artists do a cycle apiece again.

But from this set, I like Noah Bradley's the most. He's no John Avon, but my favorite

I got the foil Noah Bradley full art island. Love the art on that one.

Fleetwood-Mat: I am jealous of that.

I figure this would happen and I am happy to buy more full art lands to add to my other EDH decks. BUT does this means that Oath of the Gatewatch Fat Packs will contain Full art lands to? Battle for Zendikar Fat Packs had them and with a supposed "limited supply" and price mark ups at LCS (I paid $50 for mine on release Friday at my LCS). If there are a lot of cards in Oath that I want I think I will look at Target and Wall-mart for Fat Packs if I decide to buy one.

There will be the same artwork for the lands. Fatpacks will have the same land packs

Okay, That is Great.
