Turn 1: Forest + Elvish Mystic
Turn 2: Mountain + Generator Servant + Elvish Mystic
Turn 3: Forest + sac the servant for Outland Colossus with haste + Temur Battle Rage
Swing for 6, it gets 6 +1/+1 counters, doublestrike swing for 12 = 18 damage.
Turn 4: Lightning Strike, you win.

As said above, Renown states that the creature gets the +1/+1 counters when it deals damage, and thus won't apply before damage is dealt that combat.
It'll be 12/12 for the next turn, though.

If you give it double strike, it gets the counters in between damage steps (if I'm not mistaken). So it would deal 6 in the first damage step, then get 6 counters, and deal 12 in the second damage step. So 18 total, as mentioned above. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

ducttapedeckbox - However, if the Colussus is given double strike then it will become Renowned between First Strike and Regular Damage. kmcree is correct.

except you guys missed the part where he said cast Temur Battle Rage, so it will deal 6 damage during first strike combat damage. That's when renown will trigger and put 6 +1/+1 counters on it. Then you move to normal combat damage and it will deal 12 damage for a combined total of 18 damage.

The Temur Battle Rage went right over my head. Oops...

yeah, though while doable... it does require 8 cards. So it takes more than the perfect opening hand to accomplish this.

It would definitely get the counters before the second combat damage set, making for 18 damage total. But this is way too Christmas land.

The main problem being renown?
Lol no.
The main problem being a christmas land, perfect hand.

It's basically a 5-card-combo that requires 3 land-drops.If you don't start, you'll get 3 card draws, + 2 random in your hand. It my be sufficient if you run playsets of all the cards mentioned above. Also, you shouldn't build a deck soley based around this combo of course, it's rather a nice-to-have strategy in RW-aggro.

The main problem I'm seeing is that it's after it deals combat damage that it'll get the +1 counters. I may be wrong and if I am then awesome if not it may push it to a solid turn 4 win.
