So i was reading this article on daily mtg today and the author mentioned an M15 Riven Turnbull and i was wondering if this was a hint at them reprinting him? It seems silly considering that he is a terrible card but is it possilbe?

it is possible that they could reprint any card they want. they could even reprint Black Lotus even though that is highly unlikely.

I meant, do you think they will? Or make a less shitty version of him?

Not worth a debate on that one. He would be a common with those stats or be the legend of suck. Could you imagine your opponents reaction if you made leathal with that...uhm your not killing me with that they would say.

Tyrannosary, Black Lotus is part of the power 9 that wizards vowed would never reprint, hence the 3500 dollar price tag lol

It's not because it's part of the Power 9 swkelly89, but because it's on the Reserved List.

GoldGhost012 ohh i see, i thought power 9 and the reserved list were one in the same

Power 9 is a community term, the reserved list is a couple hundred cards long and contains cards from Alpha to Urza's Destiny. Official reprint policy

i said they could reprint it if they wanted to. but that DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL. i think you missed the entire second part of what i typed

May 28, 2014 11:35 p.m.

@Tyrannosary No, I didn't, and I don't think anyone else did. Wizards "could" do it, but they would lose a large consumer base and risk their business. So, they really can't. I don't think anyone here wants to argue over wording. Wizards "could" set fire to their HQ and commit mass suicide. It's not really in the realm of reason though.

@Rhinowarrior Just a suggestion, he might have been referring to any possible 5/7 creature for 7 mana. Just like most people refer to 2 mana 2/2s as Grizzly Bears . I don't really know though.

Tyrannosary says... #12

i know. that is why they will most likely never reprint it.

May 28, 2014 11:48 p.m.

They probably won't reprint it, because I've only seen 1 multicolored card get printed/reprinted in a core set, and that was Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker

I could see a mono black version of him idk. Rumors board was feeling a little dull so i diecided to throw a bone out there. tis speculation after all. Also, grizzly bear is a well known card. Where the fuck did Riven Turnbull come from?

haha i get that im just saying that nobody really refers to him.. i dont think. am i missing something?

In the article, the reference to Riven Turnbull was just a little joke to help illustrate the point the author was making about expectations vs. reality for being a Magic copy editor. Explaining a joke makes it not funny, so I'll leave it to you to go back and sort it out.

Maybe he was referring to a card that taps for black mana? Like an Elvish Mystic for black or something.

Checking out the article I'm pretty sure that the statement wasn't serious.
