The Next Sarkhan Vol Card?
Spoilers, Rumors, and Speculation forum

Considering that we are headed to Tarkir, home of Sarkhan Vol , it is only natural that we should have a new planeswalker card of him. My questions for you...
- What color(s) should he be?
- What should his abilities be?
He looks pretty Red/Black to me...

Hey, TheGamer. Are you annoyed that people keep correcting you? Oh, and, Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
is a thing, you know. Also, your grammar's incorrect. I'll fix it for you:
"WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE CORRECTING ME?! I SAID I'M SORRY. GOD HELP ME!"

@Ohthenoises That's pretty funny! Ironically, I'm not really a grammar Nazi. I just wanted to mess with TheGamer, since we give each other advice/deck-comments all of the time. I am, however, a sarcastic jerk with a good sense of humor. XD

All planeswalkers can manipulate all five colors of mana. If he prepared for it, Jace could cast Lightning Bolt . The color of the card relates to their personality, not just their casting abilities. (And also the colors of mana they prefer to work with)

I think he will be mono red to capture the primal essence of dragons. Besides there are only two mono red planeswalkers (Chandra an Tibalt, I am not counting different versions of them) and he has a flaming hand.

personally I'm hoping for R/B. Also, I will agree his color scheme is R/B/W; however, based off of what we have seen for Sarkhan he should be either R/G/B or R/B/BL. Sarkhan vol was R/G and Sarkhan the mad was R/B but also remember who he works for, Nicol Bolas who is R/B/BL.

Wizards is really picky about their art of a planeswalker. And since they tweeted out that we will MAYBE see another 3 color planeswalker, I think Sarkahn will be Dega. I came up with some abilities that seem to have characteristics of each of the Dega colors and since this is a very "war, destruction, ravaged lands" themed set, I've tuned him accordingly.

He has a claw symbol on his shoulder. The RUG tribe's? They seem to be the midrange fatty tribe where he'd fit in. My guess is he that he is Mono Red or R/G.

It would be a very odd color scheme of it isn't r/b/w.

Sarkhan is native to this Plane, and was originally R/G. The Black in his nature only came from his corruption.
As such, if he is to fit with one of these Wedges, it would have to be Temur R/G/U. This would make sense to me, as previous Sarkhan versions would seem to work much better with "Savagery" than with "Speed". (Just an opinion)... and he wouldn't have just "picked up White" for no reason at all.
Personally, I don't think it would make sense for him to be a 3 color PW. I would think it's another (or reprint) of Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker , or just a new PW all together.

I actually see the possibility for him to be dega, since he seems to want to set something straight. He's probably still impulsive and selfish, but since he's trying to accomplish a greater goal (I actually don't know if it's repopulating takir with dragons, or some clan dispute he wants to settle) white does seem to fit to some extend.

All I'm gonna say is if he comes in mardu colors, I'm grabbing a playset and he'll find a way to be even in my modern deck

Sarkhan is shamanistic which is not RWB at all. He may be focused on red, but there's definitely green in him. The black was from Bolas' influence, so since he's native to this plane and originally G/R he probably originally belonged to the RUG clan (can't think of the name). However, wizards has never given any walker four colors, and I doubt they'll do it for Sarkhan. If he is the three color walker they hinted at, he will stay jund. Which would be awkward given the wedge theme, but they've done stranger things before.
Personally, I think he'll just stay R/G or R/B and the three color walker will be someone new (or Bolas again: they didn't hint at a new three color walker, just a three color walker).
People are acting like the black in Sarkhan was just a temporary thing, and it could go away for him to be R/G again, but I don't think for a second it will be swapped with yet another color (W or U are the only options and I don't think either fit his personality).

Personally I am hoping for a Standard defining Mono-Red Planeswalker. Chandra has her niche and Koth was pretty good in the Zendikar-Scars Standard but Red needs an Architect of Thought or Knight-Errant or Sun's Champion.
Green's already getting Nissa the Worldwaker who is probably going to make a huge splash in the very dominant Big Green shells nowadays (In my LGS anyway) and White has a plethora of choices (Elspeth, Ajani and...Ajani) while Black gets Garruk and Lilliana Vess who is pretty good despite her age.
Red kind of needs that game changer that will seem innocuous at first but take over the meta. And with Garruk(B/G) and Xenagos(R/G) already making up the muscle of any possible Superfriends Jund build, a mono-Red Planeswalker would be a pretty nice way to round out the build. I'm sure historically a B/R Planeswalker is more likely but one can only hope.
Flavor-wise with all the name drops for Ugin we've had recently and with Sarkhan's involvement with the Zendikar/Eldrazi storyline, I hope we get a guy who is actually TWO Planeswalkers. Like "Sarkhan, Avatar of Ugin" or maybe GoT it up with a moniker like "Sarkhan, Son of Dragons".
