A 'solution' for a colorless basic land has been found, and this will allow for a colorless Commander preconstructed deck to be created in the future.

Tamiyo will be subbing in for Jace soon as the "de facto" blue Planeswalker.

Fat Packs are in the process of being reworked to be "more newbie friendly".

As long as my fat packs have nice boxes and packs, that's all I care about. If they replace packs with shitty intro decks then I will cease to buy them

I second that sentiment on the other hand, did they just invent a 6th basic land type? Fucking wot?

JWiley129 says... #4

VampireArmy - basically they said that the "Colorless basic land" is NOT Barry's Land. But Aaron Forsythe found a way to do a colorless basic land, whatever that means.

VampireArmy says... #5

I'm for it. Why not? It doesn't.change the game that much since people already have all colorless decks.

VampireArmy says... #6

Oh and finally with the jace thing. I'm so tired of him taking the blue spot for everything. They really don't print New blue walkers that often. They should

abenz419 says... #7

I wonder what they mean by making Fat Packs more newbie friendly. Could this mean they become more like the deckbuilder kits with a huge chunk of land and a bunch of commons and uncommons?

VampireArmy says... #8

I really hope not. Those are untouchable as it is

Maybe a random starter deck with some number of packs.

oh dear g-d.... seeded booster packs 0_0

But Jace!

I personally dislike this change because of the small role that Tamiyo played and how big Jace is.

Super excited about the colorless basic lands.

November 3, 2014 10:23 p.m.

Jace is overrated. Tamiyo is overrated.

Magic is overrated.

Lets all be muggles.

As an aside, Crux of Fate looks like it could have some potential.

Ohthenoises says... #14

TBH I feel like Jace is played out. His storyline has been pretty well finished and Tamiyo is always interesting.

Colorless basics makes me legitimately happy. "Figured out how to do colorless basics" implies non artifact basics and also points to a strong colorless theme. Here's hoping for a Ghostfire cycle, like a colorless G Naturalize , a colorless Murder , colorless Cancel , and colorless Brave the Elements . That would be amazing...

I want foil Crux of Fate like nobodies business

November 3, 2014 11:36 p.m.

DarkHero says... #16

Fatpacks being more newbie friendly should mean not costing $40...But it will probably just be shiity premade decks in place of like half the boosters, which makes them all but worthless.

November 3, 2014 11:38 p.m.

I am torn about the Jace issue. On one hand, I want to see some new blue walkers. On te other, I think Jace still has a place in the storyline. Oh well. As long as they don't kill off Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker , im fine.

November 3, 2014 11:42 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #18

CommanderOfBolas you are aware that in Fate Reforged Sarkan goes back in time to save Ugin from Bolas right?

Chances are Sarkhan + Ugin will kill bolas, this would make for a new timeline in Alara and actually would prevent Ajani Goldmane from igniting his spark.

GO GO BUTTERFLY EFFECTS!

November 3, 2014 11:47 p.m.

I don't think this necessarily means the death of bolas. My money is on Sarkhan dying with both dragons living

November 3, 2014 11:49 p.m.

Baltec says... #20

I think Sarkhan and Ugin would have one helluva hard time killing Bolas.

November 4, 2014 12:03 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #21

Well as history played out the first time Ugin definitely got killed by Bolas. I think the addition of Sarkhan and other potential walkers (Sorin maybe?) might be able to take down Bolas.

November 4, 2014 12:06 a.m.

But bolas is one of the great multiverse threats. he is essential to the storyline. Besides, Sorin and Ugin have bigger problems (namely the eldrazi).

November 4, 2014 12:12 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #23

Bolas was instrumental in the release of the Eldrazi IIRC. If he died before RoE they would still be stuck in their prison possibly.

November 4, 2014 12:15 a.m.

mpeach1 says... #24

I just want to see Bolas and Ugin in standard! Happy about Tamiyo as well. I think she could provide some good story, and I'm a fan of the card, hopefully she'll see a reprint soon , I'm guessing the last core set maybe

November 4, 2014 12:19 a.m.

MindAblaze says... #25

It seems like its time to totally start the storyline over. What better way than to kill off one of the main antagonists, and by doing that also deal with another of the main stories we have going on...then it's just New Phyrexia...which Bolas was involved with too, whether that was relevant or not who knows...

November 4, 2014 1:46 a.m.

Lame_Duck says... #26

Well, if nothing else, I think Tamiyo, the Moon Sage has a much more interesting visual design than Jace so I'm happy that we'll be getting some more art of her rather than yet another picture of guy in blue cloak.

November 4, 2014 5:53 a.m.

MarduGras says... #27

Makes sense that they would make colourless basic lands seeing as it is speculated that much of Fate Reforged/Dragons of Tarkir will be focused on Ugin and Colourless cards.

As for Tamiyo replacing Jace I think we all saw that coming. How many cards does Jace have? 5. And Tamiyo? 1. Totally works with the lore too as Jace's story is pretty much resolved and Since Tamiyo is all about knowledge at any cost she's a perfect fit for the blue planeswalker.

November 4, 2014 6:08 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #28

Tamiyo has really elegant art and looks totally fascinating. Jace is just a moody jackass. I'm all for it.

Can't comment much on the magic storyline though. The lore was always too full of holes and inconsistencies to draw me in.

November 4, 2014 7:35 a.m.

Gidgetimer says... #29

Hopefully the fat pack change includes getting its MSRP under the MSRP of the included packs so that the spin down and box feel like bonuses instead of something you are over paying for.

November 4, 2014 7:54 a.m.

MarduGras says... #30

I wonder if Tamiyo becoming the new blue walker means a return to Kamigawa sometime in the future.

November 4, 2014 3:47 p.m.

Asher18 says... #31

nope... RETURN TO INNISTRAD LOTV CONFERMED U GUYZZZ

November 4, 2014 3:56 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #32

Asher18 LOTV was going to be in M15 until last minute changes. She tested too powerful along wastenot and all of the discard options.

m16? obligatory sad face and desire for one of the top 20 most powerful cards of all time

November 4, 2014 4:27 p.m.

PreZchoICE1 says... #34

Jace is a moody jackass.... ironic how he fits so well in the blue color pie with that personality

November 4, 2014 5:17 p.m.

jr92_2000 says... #35

It makes sense to work in Tamiyo more. Once we move past a world with core sets, it becomes a lot more difficult to justify a new Jace every year. Hopefully the same is true for all of the core planeswalkers.

November 4, 2014 5:46 p.m.

MarduGras says... #36

Lilliana's got two demons to go.Garruk is trying to kill Lilliana.Chandra does whatever she wants. No clue what Ajani's doing. Could still be on Theros or might have moved on.

Don't know whose next to go. Hoping it's Chandra because she doesn't really add a whole lot to the story.

If anyone wants to add or update this list please feel free to do so.
