Do you think True-Name Nemesis will ever be printed in a regular set? By design it was created for group games, but it's seeing a lot of play in Legacy. I'd like to play it in Modern, where there are at least some answers for it.
It would be totally OP in Standard unless there were cards in each color to balance it out. In red, maybe something like an instant speed burn spell that does two damage to all non-red creatures.
Do you want to see it in Standard and Modern? What cards do you think would provide enough balance for it?

If they felt it was a mistake I'm not sure why they didn't ban it from Legacy when the new ban lists came out.
Makes me wonder how many of the Conspiracy cards will break Legacy...

Lots of cards are mistakes, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are back breaking, especially to a robustly powerful format like Legacy. For instance, Tarmogoyf 's power was a complete accident when planeswalkers were pulled from the set and it was added back at both a cheaper cost and as a /+1.
Letting something like that loose on Standard or Modern would be format warping though.

I guess my point was that if it was in Standard there would have to be answers for it available. As it is now we have Supreme Verdict and Golgari Charm . A few more cards like that and it won't be so bad. I don't see it as much worse than AEtherling , which can be bounced in response to any threat.

True Name Nemesis isn't really that broken of a card. It dies to -1 counters which can be played with Golgari Charm , Drown in Sorrow , Mutilate , Nausea , Night of Souls' Betrayal Shrivel

Agreed DrFunk27. It's not really that broken, except against specific decks. Red would need a solid answer to it, as would white.
Maybe even an entire set of OP creatures, one in each color, would balance it too.

That being said, I do NOT want Nemesis in Standard. Blue Control is already strong enough, and Nemesis would make Standard boring.

DrFunk27 Yes, it does.
True-Name Nemesis can't be dealt damage, enchanted/equipped, blocked or targeted by anything your opponent controls. Supreme Verdict does none of those. It doesn't target and it doesn't deal damage.

It's a strong card, but like Tarmogoyf, it often needs a bit of a boost. That said, maybe in 12 or so standards in the future when my set is worth five hundred will they reprint it.

Granted it looses a bit of power when not coupled with Stoneforge Mystic to tutor up equipment for it to wear. But no it will never be printed in a standard set, WotC has already stated that it was probably a mistake.
