If its real, I love it. Thoughts?
Either fake or one of the mostly poorly designed cards WOTC has ever made. I hope it's not real.

I agree, super fake. The colons need to be centered on the loyalty cost symbol, and they are centered in the text-box instead.
We don't even have confirmation that Ugin is IN Fate Reforged, even though it is quite likely.

Also, the second ability is like the most vague thing I have ever seen. I'm pretty sure that R&D would be a little more careful on such a big card.

This isn't even a good card- I'd be very upset if Wizards actually made this.

I feel that I should clarify. I love it because I've been wanting more targeted ping for my Horobi deck.

Look at the card number too...a card name that starts with U is the 3rd in the setlist? Aren't colorless cards usually put at the end before lands?
I guess it could be different, but I feel like we're getting our hopes up.

Plus, a colorless card would not be 3/185, as white is at the start of the count and colorless is closer to the end, around basic lands.

I don't understand the ultimate here. it doesn't seem correct flavor-wise, if this is real (im very skeptical)

I found it on Tumblr and followed it to reddit. Not exactly a reliable source.

I would love another colorless walker but this is pretty bad. And fake.

I like the art and layout of the card. Not too fond of it's functionality, hope it's fake.

Terrible card, for 9 mana, it better smack something in the eye good and fast like Karn or Nicol Bolas. Judging by the rest of you good folks' comments, hopefully it's fake!

This is fake, but to the point about the Collector Number:
Artifacts and Lands do come at the end of the list, but other colorless cards get put in front. This has only happened in 2 expansions (that I can think of) over 21 years, so I'm not surprised some people haven't noticed it. Consider Karn Liberated from New Phyrexia and All Is Dust and friends from Rise of the Eldrazi.

MindAblaze! Set number is fine, colorless (non-artifact) come before white, see the eldrazi (e.g. Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre) and Karn Liberated as the previous examples.

The only thing you need to know about this on whether it's fake or not is that his +3 would read "Ugin, the Spirit Dragon deals 3 damage to target creature or player" if it was real.

so fake. the ultimate is so extremely OP theres no way this would even be remotely real.
November 20, 2014 3:29 p.m.
Ultimate doesn't seem OP at all. You have to invest 9 mana, 3 turns, and sideboard slots to make it happen.

I think that the minus 2 would turn that permanent into a 2/2, like a morph creature, only it couldn't morph. I know that the Innistrad transform cards don't see much play in eternal formats, but how would that interact with them?
November 20, 2014 5 p.m.
The +3 is pretty awesome, but the -2 should be more like -4 considering the starting loyalty, and it's incredibly vague. The ultimate is a bit strange, and kind of overpowered. I would just play one of every walker in standard in my SB. Also, 9 mana is ridiculous.
But that +3 is insane. Should be more like a -3.
November 20, 2014 5:10 p.m.
To those saying 3/185 can't be right; Technically it can. Colorless is not the same as artifact, and in Karn Liberateds case where he is the first in the set, I believe colorless cards come first in ordering. as far as everything else, i'm torn between whether it can be real or not. Maybe its a really attempted mock up.

For those saying that his ultimate is broken beyond all belief so it has to be fake for that reason consider this:
Spawnsire of Ulamog, for 10 mana, can "cast" (yes cast) any number of eldrazi. This meant that if you had 4 emrakul, 4 kozilek, and 4 ulamog in your sideboard you would net the following: 4 extra turns, 4 destroyed permanents, 16 cards, and three copies of each set in your library with one of each remaining on the field.
All of a sudden his -15 doesn't seem that backbreaking. At least to me.
November 20, 2014 5:20 p.m.
@Ohthenoises: With Spawnsire, you have to invest 30 mana into it without it being destroyed/countered/etc.
On the other hand, I wanna make that deck now. Any ideas how to generate infinite mana in Modern?

@Ohthenoises Also, you'd have to devote 12 of your 15 card sideboard plan to a maindeck strategy, meaning you have very little room to improve your matchup games 2 and 3, where your opponent will be siding in relevant cards. Planeswalkers can be relevant out of the sideboard depending on their functionality.
Granted, you're right, that ultimate isn't broken. Too much investment; you're allowed to spend 9 mana and a few turns to win the game in pretty much any format. I think it's actually pretty irrelevant outside of casual. Maybe EDH, but I don't think EDH leagues even use sideboards.

it rewards players who can afford to have a bunch of walkers in their sideboard (in tournaments). at like FNM, they don't need to be in your sideboard even. its just a dumb ultimate. i could see it letting you cast 1 planeswalker, for less loyalty, but certainly not as many as you want.
anyway, thats not the only reason this is fake. i sort of feel like if Ugin gets a card, he and Bolas (if Bolas gets a new card) would be able to make themselves indestructible, because it doesnt make much sense for someone as powerful as Bolas to be killed by Garruk, and definitely not Hero's Downfall.
November 20, 2014 6:19 p.m.
How many Eye of Ugin effects would FRF need to even make this playable?
November 20, 2014 6:19 p.m.
9 mana for a repeatable lightning bolt and a bad excuse for pseudo-removal. Not only fake, but also super lame.
November 20, 2014 6:23 p.m.
CMC is way too high for what it does. The second ability is interesting, but really needs to be re-worded. A plainswalker that can turn other permanents into face down 2/2 colorless creatures is interesting. Not a fan of the last ability, you'd need to be running a superfriends deck to make it effective. Hopefull if we get a real Ugin planeswalker, it'll be better than this fake. The card art is pretty spot on.
WeBuild4Life says... #2
Just an observation that a friend made, but look at the placement of the colons. Planeswalkers have them centered inside the indent. These are noticeably off.
