For those that dont know these are promos that where given out to people that tried to order the guilds of ravnica mythic edition. And no ones started up a thread for them yet so I thought I should do it. Here's pretty much everything we know about them so far. Wotc said they'll give us more info on 11/5

They kinda look like the "Super Art" proxies that were floating around a few years ago...before WotC banned them lol :D
I must say though I really like the see-through text boxes...that's something you just can't do with altered art!

These are actually better than all non-Teferi Mythic edition planeswalkers.

@Rabid_Wombat - We absolutely can. Acrylics are very transparent and if you're painting with thinned high-quality paint, you will often have to throw down many layers to block what's behind that newest layer. Artists throw down two layers of gray to make sure the see through stuff doesn't happen. When altering foils, this is how people make sure the product still has that shine. Even if transparency wasn't an issue, you could fake the fade effect. All of this is a lot of extra work tho, and most artists appreciate the extra space to work on.
I honestly don't like the borders tho.

In a month, you will be able to get the ultimate box toppers. At a grand old price point of 340 bucks MSRP. Oh, and a box of 24 boosters.

Anyone else notice that W had no (mono-colored) box-topper promos? lol.
It looks like they're gonna have some high-quality reprints. I love the new art on Through the Breach and Tasigur and Bitterblossom -- and even the originals were pretty great!
I'm also hoping they'll print this in large enough quantities to drop the prices on some of the commons and uncommons, so I can pick up some Finks on the cheap (: but that price tag makes me wonder...

landofMordor Sorry to break it to you bro but WotC have announced that Ultimate Masters will have an "extremely limited" print run - even when compared to previous Masters sets....Sad!

If goyf gets cheap ($30 each) I'm definitely going to pick up a set and find a deck to play them in. Probably counter cat, or maybe something in legacy.
I'm really hoping for a Surgical Extraction reprint. It seems unlikely given it's not a box topper, but it's still possible since there are a lot of black box topper.
Edit: also there are 20 mythics in the set instead of 15. So good luck getting that specific mythic you want. At the same time, it does mean that more cards are seeing reprints.

Wow, this set looks amazing! There is no way that I shall not purchase at least some cards from it, provided that they are not too expensive, and I am very pleased to see that both Temporal Manipulation and Sigarda, Host of Herons are finally being reprinted, since both of those cards have been in dire need of reprints. I do really hope that WotC also reprints both Akroma's Memorial and Rhystic Study in this set, since both of those cards are currently far too expensive and this is the best possible set in which to reprint them.
However, on the negative side, WotC just recently released Masters 25 as a celebration of this game's 25th anniversary, so this is a flagrant attempt to get more money from their customers. Also, this is now the fourth product line that WotC is retiring, after Duel Decks, Premium Decks, and From the Vault; why are they doing that? Do they not realize that all of those sets were very popular with the players because they were great ways to reprint older cards without reintroducing them to standard and/or modern formats? I do hope that WotC has some amazing new products planned to replace those that they have retired.

DemonDragonJ the reason why WotC is dumping the Modern series is because they have flogged the idea to death - counting UMA there will have been three Masters sets released in just the past two years...that's over-saturation of a market already busting at the seams with product.
Secondly it's down to Consumer Expectation. Many people are sick of getting burned so when they see "Masters blah blah" set they remember getting that Tree of Perdition as their Mythic Rare, laugh out loud, keep their money in their wallet and buy some singles instead. It's better marketing to just to hit a reset button and come up with a new totally new set/ product line to sell the reprints that people want/need for Modern/EDH.
My guess is they will do something very similar to Mythic Edition and have future Modern staple reprints only available online through the Hasbro store.

TCG has the boxes at $285 so it can be found cheaper than the price point listed in the link which is nice.
November 6, 2018 8:29 a.m.
Yes, the sales they have are unopened boxes of UM with the box topper included.

The box topper isnt like the buy a box promo where its separate from the box?

shadow63 This time round the box topper is in a little booster pack all by itself and it's actually in the box!

If you are planing on preordering be wary that the set has not even released yet and they already leaked some of their garbage rares: Lavaclaw Reaches, Stirring Wildwood, and Tasigur, the Golden Fang. Even Raging Ravine and Creeping Tar Pit seems like a feels bad Box Topper. Guess which Box Toppers will be printed at a higher rate. I don't trust this set at all, especially with an MSRP $50 CHEAPER than a PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

I agree random. They totally missed the mark they should of done like half the ones they chose

Rabid_Wombat, that breaks my heart. Although, the announcement said that they'd start working more reprints into other types of products.
Personally, I'm hoping the product to replace Masters will be a "Innistrad Remastered" that just reprints Innistrad (or Kamigawa, or Lorwyn, or whatever) card-by-card, to reproduce a Limited environment that is famously good, but also old enough that many folks haven't experienced it.

Just a heads up everyone:
DO NOT buy any box topper packs out of their box. You can you use a torch to check which foil Mythic is in the booster pack due to thin see-through plastic.
And you can bet that scammers on the secondary market will be using this method to ensure that they keep the Goyfs and you score a Tasigur for your hard earned fifty bucks :/

Yikes, that's real sloppy by wotc. Not a good sign for what's supposed to be the greatest masters set yet. Thanks for the heads up.

Given the higher-than-average MSRP of this set, how much shall the reprints in it affect the prices of the cards? Surely, they shall decrease at least somewhat?
Another card that I would like to see reprinted is Book of Rass, since that card has not been reprinted in a long time, and it is a very useful card, as it is essentially a colorless version of Greed.

Is there any chance that Worldly Tutor may be reprinted in this set? It was left out of the tutor cycle in Masters 25, and I know that Eladamri's Call is superior to it in almost every way, but it still would be nice to have a reprint of the tutor, anyway.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #27
Worldly tutor would be a good reprint. I have no idea how likely it is, but I'd love to see it happen.
I'm hoping for another path to exile reprint. I firmly believe it should be a $5 card, yet it keeps creeping up to $7 after every reprint. Not like it's that big of a deal, but still.
I'd also like to see some reprints of burn spells because someone should be and able to build mono-red burn in modern for well under $50 if they don't play goblin guide. Stuff like Lava Spike, Grim Lavamancer, even Skullcrack.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd interesting you mention Path to Exile - I actually predicted today that not only will it be reprinted in UMA but it will also be downsized to Common! Go Pauper :D
If WotC don't shake things up like that Ultimate Masters will be a really hard sell as the EVO just plain sucks right now. My LGS has had vitually Zero pre-orders and Wizards are making them pay up front for the order which is just another example of them trying to fade traditional game stores.
Worldly Tutor reprint could happen...I'd say there is a fifty percent chance of it being included as it needs a reprint and is great in so many EDH decks.

Since the enemy-colored filter lands (Rugged Prairie, Flooded Grove, and so forth) were reprinted in Masters 25, how likely is it that the allied-colored filter lands (Mystic Gate, Sunken Ruins, and so forth) shall be reprinted in this set? I would very much like for that to happen, as they currently are very expensive.
November 17, 2018 1:27 a.m.
ToolmasterOfBrainerd says... #30
I would say almost 0 since there have been so many lands already spoiled. The presence of the man lands and so many other lands (ancient tomb, urborg, karakas, cavern of souls, dark depths) basically guarantees there won't be any more lands at rare.
Rabid_Wombat path to exile at common would make me so happy. That would actually meaningfully increase the number of copies in circulation.

DemonDragonJ says... #31
ToolmasterOfBrainerd, that is very disappointing to hear, because those cards very much need to be reprinted, and I would much rather have them instead of the manlands, which are not as expensive, other than Celestial Colonnade.
Also, I believe that Path to Exile is too powerful to be a common, so I hope that it remains an uncommon.
November 17, 2018 9:36 a.m.
Rabid_Wombat says... #32
DemonDragonJ too powerful for which format? UMA Sealed, Casual or Pauper?
Path to Exile is actually exactly what Pauper needs...Delver and Rainbow Tron Decks are dominating the scene right now and Path would really give the more fun decks (like Acid Trip) a way to step up and be more competitive.
Other cards I think that UMA needs to see reprinted at Common are Oubliette, Lotus Petal and fun cards like Riding the Dilu Horse - this would actually get me buying a booster or two...as it stands I'll stick to one or two singles.
Where Wizards really dropped the ball with UMA was not reprinting: Mox Opal, Imperial Seal, Grim Tutor, Zodiac Dragon, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, Phyrexian Altar and Back to Basics.
That's what this set really needs to justify the absurd price tag of the booster boxes - a bunch of great cards (which are all overpriced) that players actually want that would also benefit multiple formats.
