What reprints would you like in FR?

So the other day I was looking for things to add to my Daretti EDH deck when I came across this gem: Dragon Mage and went holy nuts a dragon wizard that's not Niv Mizzet! And then i thought this card or a card similar to it would make a great Temur Dracobuddy and now want him in standard... I was curious if there is anything specific everyone else wants to see reprinted in the Khans block :)

Celestial Colonnade, Cryptic Command, Snapcaster Mage, all dem UWR staples would be nice... Or Scapeshift and maybe the Zendikar fetches as well...

Maybe you should add a qualification to your question about the reprint making sense in the khans block flavor rather than just getting modern wish lists like the first two responses.

Dreadbore, Terminate, Doom Blade, Terror, or Go for the Throat.

Just give me something to kill Brimaz for two mana already, for fucks sake wizards...

Anything that is standard playable that costs less than 3 mana would be nice. Or more cantrips for my ascendancy combo deck would also be cool.

I would like to see the future sight dragons like Teneb, the Harvester make a return. I think the multi colored dragons would fit well in fr.

My bad, I meant planar chaos, but the future sight dragons would be nice.

Zendikar fetches, though that prolly won't happen just yet.

Anything good for less than 3 mana, particularly removal. We're going back in time, back to the days where spells didn't suck compared to the creatures. Make it happen! Dreadbore would be especially nice so there's something in place for when Hero's Downfall and Banishing Light rotate out.

And since we know hybrid mana is coming back, 10 cards I think would be interesting to reprint:

  • Fate Transfer - Could be interesting with Heroic/Outlast to save counters if the creature is removed, or against it to steal their counters and slow them down.
  • Unmake - Though I'd prefer to see 2 mana removal come back, I'd play this card.
  • Cankerous Thirst - Not sure if this is actually any good or not, but looks like a reasonable card to fit into Sultai decks.
  • Poison the Well - Because I'd like to see some level of land destruction back, though I understand that it can't be good enough to build a deck around.
  • Spiteflame Witch AND/OR
  • Spiteful Visions - Could have applications in various Mardu decks.
  • Blistercoil Weird - Would be pefect for Jeskai. Perhaps too perfect with the Ascendancy.
  • Crackleburr - I'd love to play with this card, though instead of an exact reprint do one without the untap symbol.
  • Invert the Skies - Could be used as a finisher or anti-flying tool in Temur and Sultai decks.
  • Firespout - Best in Temur, but usable in other clans. Could be a useful sweeper, especially after Anger of the Gods rotates.

The only instance of hybrid mana that we've seen so far has been in an ability of a mono colored creature; I'm not convinced that we'll see any hybrid cost cards at all.

I don't expect the set to be all about hybrid mana, but I think it would be strange to only have it on activated abilities like the spoiler card. I would be surprised if there weren't at least some cards that cost hybrid mana.

I think instead of the cards I listed it is more likely there will be new things like Bant Sureblade with a colored mana symbol plus a hybrid, though in wedge colors instead of shards.

But as far as the topic of reprints goes, my list covers what I'd like to see.

Black Lotus, but I would settle for them re-printing any of the moxen really.

@shinobigarth that was sarcasm

Number one dream reprint: Mystic Snake so my Standard UG flash deck has an excuse to exist. A card like Go for the Throat but maybe upped a rarity and "Destroy target colored creature" (purposely missing morphs) would be neat... Guess that's not a reprint though.

I want Misty Rainforest to come down in price, so that. Maybe Logic Knot. I fully expect Dragonspeaker Shaman to see a reprint. Banefire would make sense, but I guess Crater's Claws is the replacement. A Dream Chisel reprint/effect could probably almost make Morph decks work.

Hmm... I have thought about Tombstalker right now.

Necropolis Fiend just isn't good enough. It's SO expensive, lacks power and comes with an irrelevant ability. Tombstalker on the other hand, would be a house. Eating Siege Rhino and winning in four attacks just seems strong to me.

No speculation or anything, I'm just curious wether or not Tombstalker would see play, if it was in standard.

Real things coming to mind: The format needs cheaper (and better) removal, Mardu needs a slight buff, Temur needs a big buff, Mono Green Devotion needs a huge buff and Mono Black Aggro needs Goblin Guide or something resembling that.

subrosian says... #22

@TexasDice: If some sort of devotion enablers return thanks to hybrid mana, I could imagine Tombstalker replacing Desecration Demon for MBD. If MBD would even be good without the 2-drop removal and Pack Rat.

Crypt Incursion: Reasonable graveyard hate in this delve/whip heavy meta.

Peek or Thought Scour: Might completely break Jeskai Ascendancy, but I'd like to see a good cantrip appear.

Reckless Abandon would also be great and seems fairly fitting
