What cards do you think should be printed in the next Modern Masters expansion?

My picks:

Mox Opal

Birthing Pod

Melira, Sylvok Outcast

Splinter Twin

Scapeshift

Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

Restoration Angel

Snapcaster Mage

Ajani Vengeant

Viscera Seer

Liliana of the Veil

Bitterblossom

And, of course, fetch lands.

So, what do you want to see in Modern Masters 2?

I agree with TurboFagoot. Modern Masters was incredibly fun to draft. It was like a very cpecific cube draft. The only issue i saw with it was the price of the packs. Because of some really sick cards you could pull, the price of a draft jumped to the price of regular sealed. This actually prevented me from playing as many drafts as I would have liked. I would rather have less expensive cards included in MM2 to make the packs cheaper, but have the same amount of thought put into its design to create a great limited experience.

EVERYTHING over $50. (and modern legal)

The price barrier to enter modern is disgusting.

"What's the last card to have made an impact? Liliana of the Veil ? Arguably Courser of Kruphix although it's far, far less important. The majority of decks do use old cards......."

Deathrite Shaman Abrupt Decay

To lesser extent Domri Rade and Voice of Resurgence

Also to whoever said it, modern rotating is just stupid. People shouldn't even mention things like that, that's how stupid ideas get spread and become reality. Nothing personal, but if u think modern needs to rotate then play standard instead.

Well - they're no longer supporting vintage. It's likely that'll be modern in 10 years time. Everything dies.

You can be ignorant to the fact that the format will have to change, but just because you want to deny it doesn't change that it will eventually need to happen. Barring massive reprints of most of the modern staples, the price to get involved in modern is going to become so ridiculously overpriced that it will not draw any new players in just like legacy. If modern has no appeal and isn't drawing in new players/customers then Wizards isn't going to put a bunch of R&D into anymore, further cementing the death of the format. So, for those of you who are worried about your "investments" losing value if they try to make modern more accessible to everyone. Whether or not they hold their value will be irrelevant, because without major changes modern is going to continue to draw fewer and fewer players every year just like legacy. Less people getting involved in the format means less demand for your cards, so even if they do hold their value all you'll be left with is expensive cards that 99% of the magic population will have no use for. If that's what you want then continue to support modern evolving into legacy over time, and that's what you'll get.

The lack of demand is made up for by their relative scarcity as copies are lost, and destroyed. Thats enough to keep prices going up, and I'm happy with that.

If there's no demand because people are leaving the format it won't matter how much it goes up in value because your not going to be able to profit from it. A $500 card is only worth $500 dollars if someone is willing to pay that much for it. Without demand for your "investments" it won't matter what their value is listed at because people just won't be interested in them.

People are interested not only as players, but also as collectors.

The logic trail of this thread, if followed to it's conclusion, concludes that Black Lotus is a worthless card because nobody plays vintage.

Exactly. Which it clearly isn't because collectors gon' collect.

Collectors make up a very small percentage of the magic community, considering there wishes when deciding reprint policy would be pointless. Especially since they prefer to invest their riches in singles (for the most part) rather than packs which is where WOTC makes it's money.

You tell me? Would everyone here buy a booster box for heuy if there be the chance of finding shocklands, or goyfs or black lotii. Reprints will vastly increase WOTC profits.

For the record I'm not against reprinting fetchlands. If they did I'd probably buy two cases just to store and resell the sealed boxes in 3-4 years. I'm planning to sell all of my valuable modern cards including my playset of fetches, except for the two decks I actually play (Merfolk and Affinity), in June and July. PTQ season is going to be the peak of the hype and then you'll see a drop off.

Successful troll is successful.

To be honest, I fully admit that my warped opinion is tied to my income and that most people don't feel the same way. It's not a massive deal - we all have different ideas and lifestyles. My opinion is just that - mine (ie - i realise that most people dont share it) and an opinion (ie - it's just how I feel).

I also resolve to not be a dick on the internet for the next 24 hours.
