We've been at just he 3 cards for a long time now, I'm getting antsy.

Teferi, Temporal Archmage , Ghoulcaller Gisa , Stitcher Geralf .

We still don't know all the cards in Khans of Tarkir. Give it some time.

Wow, Magic players are more impatient than even LoK fans. KTK was just now spoiled, I give it two days until the community starts demanding C14 stuff.

you kidding? I DEMAND C14 SPOILERS YESTERDAY

On another note, love kahns, great work wizards. It's be a shame if I had to go on a rampage because of a lack of commander spoilers.

I really hope they take the opportunity to print some monocolor utility lands, especially new ones. It would be exciting to see some more options for land lineups.

I was kind of disappointed by C13. It felt like they missed a lot of opportunities to print decent cards, and the land bases were pretty bad in terms of color support. I understand that the decks aren't supposed to be super powerful out of the box, but there's a difference between making a deck overpowered and giving it a reasonably strong mana base. It's not like printing check lands in Commander products is going to destroy the market.

Anyway, rant over. C14 is monocolored all the way, so I'm hoping we'll see some interesting ways for the colors to play around their inherent weaknesses. I don't really want to see five stereotypical decks that don't really offer anything new to the format or to their colors.

Maybe they get over their archetypal weaknesse by just printing Karn Liberated in all five decks...

Don't judge me, I can dream.

HorrorAvengers thats not how this works...that not how any of this works!!! lmao

I just have really high hopes for this one. C13 was ...ok... I mean it was pretty good, but left a little to be desired. With the 3 spoiled so far, it looks like this could be a huge set. Gisa is amazing in every sense, Geralf is fun as hell and certainly nothing to scoff at, and Teferi breaks the commander planeswalker limits for the first time. How could you not be super pumped for this?

Personally I've just been so engrossed in Khans to this point that now that all the Khans and Asendencys' are spoiled I've lost a little interest. In the end EDH is what I get the most enjoyment out of, so thats probably why once I exhausted the fun of new commanders from the Khans, I want more towards C14 in hopes of finding more. Really Khans is only going to give us EDH players a few things to play with, where C14 will give us whole decks worth of good stuff, including some awesome flavor with Gisa and Geralf.

I love that Gisa. I'm definitely excited to see what happens with C14, but can wait a bit. I want to at least enjoy KtK for a bit.

@DarkHero It's not all of a sudden. They start spoiling them 3 weeks before the prerelease, then we have 2 weeks straight of spoilers where on the very last day they spoil the rest of the commons and uncommons that hadn't been spoiled yet. Then you get a week to go over the whole set before the prerelease.

In other words, I could have told you they would finish spoiling the whole set on the 12th (yesterday), long before they started spoiling them lol. At least now you know for when they start spoiling the next set, Fate Reforged.

"WIZARDS SUCKS WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANY COMMANDER 2246 SPOILERS YET!!!"

I'm actually not too happy with this cycle of Commander so far. Teferi should not have gotten a PW card, and Gisa and Geralf would have been more fun as a U/B general with two characters, like Tibor and Lumia .

It also doesn't help that I"m not a fan of monocolor edh decks.

abenz419 I meant in the sense that I had just looked at it and 50 some-odd cards were still missing but I looked again and it was finished.

DarkHero says... #18

Krayhaft the whole set is supposed to be monocolored. You really can't hate on monocolored. The efficiency gained from not having to worry about mana fixing makes the decks wildly more consistent, and most peope just getting into EDH can't afford the expensive lands and mana fixers, so running just basic lands makes monocolored the easiest way for someone to get to try the game without spending a cool grand on a mana base. And the two are inherently blue/black respectively. They only worked together in the Lore out of a shared desire to conquer Thraben. This coming after they fought each other for years. Putting them on the same card wouldn't make sense, and really such a card that say contained both of their abilities, would be waaaay overpowered.

Was talking to a friend the other day about C14. The whole 'legendary characters who don't have a card yet'. And one came to the forefront of our discussion (Granted, she does have a token; does that count?).

Marit Lage

Sexy, right?

September 14, 2014 9:45 a.m.

DarkHero says... #20

They are related to Mikaeus, the Unhallowed (they killed Mikaeus, the Lunarch and Liliana reanimated him as Unhallowed). Why not just put Mikaeus and Gisa and Geralf on the same card??? Big family gathering on a singular card??? No???

totally joking

Yea most people have been giving attention to who the planeswalkers might be, but not much mention of the Legionaries. I can't imagine Merit Lage being in this, or even ever seeing a creature print. Mostly because of Dark Depths . I think they will call this her "creature" card, because she is in a frozen prison at the bottom of the sea at the moment, AND more specifically, the card states that she would be a Black token, meaning that he creature type would be either black or multicolored. SO, in a monocolored set, she would have to be black, but Ghoulcaller Gisa already fills that spot. And really even if she got Blue for whatever reason Stitcher Geralf is there too.

abenz419 says... #22

In the commander products they typically include 3 legendary creatures. The original commander and two "alternates". Each on of the C14 decks is going to have a mono colored planeswalker and 2 legendary creatures (the alternates). So just because Ghoulcaller Gisa has already been spoiled as a black legendary doesn't mean it'd be impossible for Merit Lage to also be a black legendary creature in the deck. However I still think it's unlikely to see her in the deck, just not for the reasons you think so (because there is still a black legendary we haven't seen).

MagicalHacker says... #23

Also, one if those alternate commanders has always been a reprint in the commander products in the past, so that's probably what they're going to do again.

September 14, 2014 2:20 p.m.

DarkHero says... #24

True I had forgotten about the alternate legendaries. Still your right I can't imagine Merit would be the one for the same reasons you mentioned.
