Hewed Stone Retainers. This card seems like and instant staple in affinity. Im going to get a million copies of it. The alt art is sitting at 15$, I imagine its not going to go down. You affinity players out there are probably pretty excited about this.

About as excited as hearing that Sword of the Meek got unbanned recently in Modern. Awww yeeeeah, that and Ghostfire Blade are gonna rock Affinity!

It is budget fringe T2-3 playable in Affinity. Really, don't buy them, they are not that good...

Love the Etched Champion insert, that art is quite good.

It took me the longest time to figure of what was going on in the Etched art and that its a golem-ish dude crossing his arms lol

Noo you guys haha, I was serious. Yeah its a 3 cost, but as a 4/4 it seems fair, and in affinity youll always have cast something already. Seems better than frogmite. I guess im crazy.

Frogmite can be cast for 0 and dodges Abrupt Decay that's pretty huge.

Hewed Stone Retainers can be cast for no less than 3 whereas Frogmite can be cast for 3. Also, Frogmite doesn't see that much play at all anyway.

Perhaps I wasn't specific enough:
Notice how it costs 3 mana. You slap on a Cranial Plating and you have an X+2/2 with protection from all colors. Doesn't get hit by Lightning Bolt, Path to Exile, Abrupt Decay...can't be blocked, can block and kill just about everything in the format that costs 2 or less mana besides creatures in Zoo, etc. etc.
No way is Affinity going to cut Etched Champions to play a vanilla 4/4 when it doesn't play 4 copies already.

i don't think there was ever any risk of Etched being dropped for this card >.>

Well, Master of Etherium is just much, much better :)
Usually a >4, buffs other creatures and doesn't require a creature drop :)
