Standard Deck Help forum

This is the Standard-specific advertise-your-deck thread!

Standard format rules

Here are the rules:

  1. You may link one of your decks in each of your posts. Do not list more than one deck per post.
  2. When you post, you must offer feedback on the deck posted immediately before yours (leave the feedback on that deck's page). This feedback needs to be genuine; "Cool deck" replies don't count. Try to be as helpful as possible.
  3. You may not post another deck in this thread again until a week after your previous deck post (by the day, not the exact minute). This is to make sure that other participants have a fair chance of getting some attention.
  4. Do not post unrelated comments in this thread. Leave the deck discussion on the deck pages. Additionally, don't comment just to subscribe to this thread. Use the subscribe button at the bottom of the page.
  5. This thread is stickied and does not expire.

When you share one of your decks, you should offer some information about what you want it to do, what specifically you think you need help with, etc. The more information you give people about your deck, the better the help you're likely to receive.

You're also encouraged to use the deck-large format to make your decks more visible:

[[deck-large:Dominus-Dreamcrusher Edition]]

While you're here, check out these recommendations for other ways to get views on your deck.

If you're feeling up to it, you can also try to write a primer for your deck.

I made a pretty creature heavy spirit deck that can win by turn 5. It's simple, fast and annoying (for your poor opponents), but I'm always looking for suggestions or interesting stuff you guys might know about.

I'm a fan of Nebelgast Herald for your deck, maybe in place of some of your St. Traft enchantments. But I don't like that the 2/1 body is weak to Liliana and Kozilek's Return. Try maybe as a sideboard card.

Another thought, I haven't tried St. Traft, but the general thing about auras is they suck if your opponent has instant removal. That means, between Selfless Spirit, Rattlechains, if you manage a couple Dispel in there (replacing some Essence Flux because you don't want to flux a creature that has enchantments on it), you can really count on your little spirits connecting.

and here's my deck. I was testing it last night on a r/b/w emerge walker deck and the biggest issue I've seen is I get stuck against people playing lots of walker and if they get rid of one of my creatures I'm screwed. So I need a way to protect my creatures while dropping theit walkers. do you think I should have a Ruinous Path in side board? maybe a Nahiri's Wrath just let me know what I can do to make this better I think I'm going to take it to an scg game night tomorrow so if you can help that'd be great. also need help with the sideboard.

I wanted to make an Angels and wolves deck which turned into this Angels and Human Werewolves. It looks promising in playlists. I get a few wolves out and buff them either with Always Watching or by dropping Thalia's Lieutenant before they transform.

I like the idea, but it can be improved. Collected Company needs to be cut as it is. You only have 18 targets, which makes it very inconsistent. If you aren't running that card, you're free to play token generating cards if you choose (Dragon Fodder) or perhaps Werewolves.
And you definitely want things like Titan's Strength for your Zada/Mirrorwing combo.

Hey folks,

I haven't posted here before, but I'd like some feedback on my new deck idea.

It follows the basic emerge framework peppered with some high value drops like Sylvan Advocate and, ultimately, Emrakul, the Promised End

It has a bit of control, life gain, and exile as well.

here's the link: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-09-16-WKJ-bant-emerge/

Idk why, but it wouldn't let me link to it.

Description: This deck is a G/U tempo deck that focuses on Rashmi, Eternities Crafter ability to give you a card or each first spell per turn. Taking advantage of Cryptolith Rite allowing to get more mana the deck should ramp into spells like Verdurous Gearhulk, Torrential Gearhulk, and most importantly Part the Waterveil, and even reach the "Awaken" ability on some spells.

Help: What I believe this deck requires is some more card draw to keep up with aggro somewhat, or just something to keep the cards moving even without Rashmi. Honestly any help would be appreciated, I'd like this to be as competitive as possible. Try to mix up the standard game a little haha. :)

My brew for Kaladesh Standard. With the lack of a great board wipe (RIP Languish) currently I think the best strategy is to go wide. What deck is better at going wide than G/W Tokens. The original brew lost a lot of awesome pieces but it was still competitive even with the annoying reign of Bant CoCo. With Bant still strong but most definitely weakened by the rotation of its namesake card I go back to the deck that stopped it.

This is not your usual build but is a build that saw a little success in EMN standard and has all the potential to be great.

Angels give us the ability to have a strong late game combined with the well known power of the G/W Token curve out. The ability to get what we want when we want with Eldritch Evolution or Thalia's Lancers is freaking sweet. We have one matchup I fear and that is the Temurge matchup. I fear this matchup because of their board wipe being extremely effective and their late game being so good. That said we have powerful cards to stop it. Sigarda, Consul's Power, Stasis Snare, and Wesvale Abbey are all great in this matchup. Tell me what you guys think.

MagicMike77: Your deck is good. I know it kinda ruins your being able to draw out gisela etc, but maybe take out 1 sylvan advocate and 1 sigarda heron's grace for 2 tireless trackers. They are amazing cards and allow for you to get a bit of draw that buffs at the same time. Im only saying this because I am running naya energy and so far tireless tracker in my playtesting and proxying (just casual standard with some mates) proves to be the thing that makes sure i do not run out of cards, in a 26 land deck. the only thing is, is that it does mean that you cant sac a 2CMC creature for gisela turn 3 as often as if you had sylvan advocate. i forgot sigarda is a 5 CMC creature, but you dont have many humans in the deck, having a one off of sigarda herons grace seems a bit clunky. Whats the worst that can happen if you playtest with this suggestion? you draw to much? IDK, sorry for the paragraph, but i hate when people say, take out 1 land put in 1 creature and then post their deck. PS i cba coding each time i put in sigarda herons grace and tireless tracker and sylvan advocate, sorry.

Now for my deck: Its just a different look into the new energy synergies. The only problem is so many duel lands. Suggestions about that would be amazing, and maybe ways to implement a few more spells into mainboard. I have explained why each card is in the deck, in the description. Thanks to whoever posts next :)

Eldrazi Doom (post Kaladesh)

Well 3 times is a charm? Lol my last 2 posts were in error so hopefully this one is fixed. First time posting.:( WTB EDIT FEATURE!!!

This deck gets some excellent early/mid/late game contributions from Kaladesh with cards at 0, 2, 4, and 6 mana:

Aether HubScrapheap ScroungerFleetwheel CruiserNoxious Gearhulk

Each of these cards (even Hub), is good in MULTIPLE ways! That aside, the rest of the deck is filled with the best eldrazi i could muster at 2,3,4,5 mana. To fill out the deck i had to include Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Liliana, the Last Hope, and Ob Nixilis Reignited because they are so powerful, and it would be irresponsible NOT to play them in a mono black deck!

The amount of card advantage, stamina and synergy in this deck is surpassed only by its surprisingly fast clock. I don't want to ruin the fun of all the different synergy's in this deck, so I will just let you find out for yourself.

YUNGCOOLATTA says... #49

Hey polar Your curve is WAY too high you need to cut it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMwcsIY1GYE

Jokes aside, you have a total of 10 potential cards that can come down on turns 1-3. Standard land destruction spells are also all 4 mama sorcery spells, so even with a hand full of them, you're looking at destroying 2 or 3 by turn 7? and thats without advancing your board state at all.

22 lands is also not nearly enough for a deck with a high rampy curve, particularly if you plan on playing multiple lands with Mina and Denn.

This all comes back to the fact that land destruction isn't really a viable strategy right now. If you want to build a deck that has some in it I would recommend a RG deck with 2 ofs of World Breaker and Crumble to Dust since crumble will probably take 3 lands out of the deck.

Heres my build, let me know what you think! Comments on the link are fine.
