Standard Deck Help forum

This is the Standard-specific advertise-your-deck thread!

Standard format rules

Here are the rules:

  1. You may link one of your decks in each of your posts. Do not list more than one deck per post.
  2. When you post, you must offer feedback on the deck posted immediately before yours (leave the feedback on that deck's page). This feedback needs to be genuine; "Cool deck" replies don't count. Try to be as helpful as possible.
  3. You may not post another deck in this thread again until a week after your previous deck post (by the day, not the exact minute). This is to make sure that other participants have a fair chance of getting some attention.
  4. Do not post unrelated comments in this thread. Leave the deck discussion on the deck pages. Additionally, don't comment just to subscribe to this thread. Use the subscribe button at the bottom of the page.
  5. This thread is stickied and does not expire.

When you share one of your decks, you should offer some information about what you want it to do, what specifically you think you need help with, etc. The more information you give people about your deck, the better the help you're likely to receive.

You're also encouraged to use the deck-large format to make your decks more visible:

[[deck-large:Dominus-Dreamcrusher Edition]]

While you're here, check out these recommendations for other ways to get views on your deck.

If you're feeling up to it, you can also try to write a primer for your deck.

Wolfshadowwind your deck is pretty good, however i believe if you would like to run a wolf deck, and for it to actually do any good, you should run a pure wolf deck. So in other words, take out chandra, and replace with arlinn. Its just i found when running zada in a wolf deck it was very problematic and the deck became very midrange. I can see potential in this deck however if you are very fortunate and have pulled two chandras, or bought them already, make another deck that can utilise them alot more. These are just a suggestions, its purely up to you.
(i CBA linking each time i put a card name, sorry)For the next person to comment on this forum, this is my deck:Its a more midrange energy combo deck, hence why I went Naya. Would really like a decent suggestion please.Deck is here: Naya Energy | Rotation Proof

I need help narrowing the deck down. The deck also does not seem like it is getting as many counters out as I want it to, but I am sure that will improve the more refined it becomes. The goal of the deck is to get counters out with fabricate. Fabricate can come in handy in a pinch with the servos as well. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

any way here is mine.

So my entire lgs has told me that human would no longer be a viable option. well here's the deck that proves that wrong. I need help with sideboard and just making sure my main board is correctly done. please help.

I only need one reckless bushwhacker as a finisher when going wide so I cut one of those to add the stoneforge masterwork. The captain's claws help with resiliency to opponent's spot removal by creating more targets so I didn't want to remove it. thanks for the feedback.

Post rotation Emrakul Deck, I have not seen a lot of players using it with all the new vehicle decks being played. Some of these cards are too valuable and fun not to play them in my opinion. I am not using cards like the spider and World breaker in mainboard for the first game because I want to be able to win right away with Emrakul and do it fast!

I'm making a G/B delirium deck and I'm just wondering what changes I should make without having to spend too much money. The only reason I'm planning to do this deck is because I owned like 3/4 of the entire deck already. However I still need some of the lands like Blooming Marsh, and then of course the 3x Liliana, the Last Hope. Which I may look to just sell some of my extra cards that I'm not using much towards getting these as a start.

I'm wanting to know whether or not I should be using Grim Flayer in this deck or whether my Tireless Trackers and Sylvan Advocates fill this space fine already. Another card I'm wondering about is Blossoming Defense and whether or not I should be using it perhaps over my Gnarlwood Dryads.

I made a mono-black control deck that's largely centered around exiling/discarding cards from the opposition's hand and drawing cards for yourself. This deck is designed to ensure that you always know what the opponent can throw out and when you are safe. Since you're always able to plan ahead, this deck works against many types of other decks. I can't wait to play it at FNM!

I had a lot of fun building the deck and it still needs improvements. Please leave criticism for me, I also really enjoy +1's if you enjoy the idea. They make my life worth living

Tomiix so your deck is nahiri mid-range but I don't see how nahiri is good in your deck. the only hit that you really have for her it looks like it the brisela meld and that's not all that great. I feel you need to have some thing that just wins you the game when you ultimate her or you need to just play the selesnya midrange.

so this is my take on aetherworks marvel. idk how well it will play as I am grabbing the cards as I find them. however I believe with more stuff to hit you have a better chance of comboing. also my sideboard is so that when they side in artifact hate or something along those lines you just over run them with direct damage to the face and creature damage. I would like to know what everyone thinks and whether or not I should change my sideboard and main board. thanks for your help and as always please upvote the deck.

This is my Green/Black Landfall deck. It was the first deck I designed to be used in competitive standard. The Sideboard accounts for faster aggro decks, with some basic removal spells, as well as instants to strengthen in a pinch.

October 23, 2016 6:08 a.m.

e10mays says... #28

mavoricke, I'll review yours since Seeka didn't. First off, I really like the idea that you can switch from combo to midrange with your sideboard. The mainboard is great, as well. I feel like if you don't have kozilek's return by turn 3 or 4, you might die from all the aggro decks. I'd make it a 4 of mainboard. Other than that, I can't think of much to improve your mainboard. For your sideboard, the card I most dislike there is thriving rhino. I'd say include Longtusk Cub and more Bristling Hydras instead since, with the cub, you don't have to attack and you can just dump energy into it. The hydra's hexproof is insane, especially if you're playing control. A few Negates wouldn't hurt in the sideboard if you can find room for them, maybe those over architect, since architect doesn't immediately generate you energy. Negate can work well because if you change to midrange and can't cast world breaker yet, you can counter whatever artifact/enchantment would cause you trouble. Also, as we all know, it counters counterspells, which is nice.

Alright, here's my deck

Angels / indestructible weeniesNot sure of how many artifact generating creatures I need to run. Gotta playtest against all types. Kind of afraid that it won't work well overall. I'm not sure if I sideboarded enough stuff for control/ if I should mainboard more Immolating Glares I want to somehow be able to trigger Syndicate Trafficker on turn 3 during opponent's turn, but I need all my mana to fabricate. I thought about the sorcery that generates servos, but then the blink effects of this deck are less effective. Help is appreciated, thanks!

Sorry, I didn't know I was supposed to review the deck before posting my own. I had a headache when I posted and didn't read the rules properly - I apologize profusely. I'll be sure to read the rules more thoroughly next time.

I'm sorry I can't say much about your deck e10mays, I'm fairly new to magic and have a hard time working out how a deck works from a verbal/written description. What I did comprehend seemed to be really well thought out to me, with good synergy between cards. Sorry I can't say more than that.

No worries, I appreciate you checking the deck out. We've all been new to the game at some point, so it's totally fine that you didn't have a lot to say. It's pretty tough to know what's going to work and what won't, even for fairly experienced players.

Commented on Wolfshadowwind's deck. I'm looking for suggestions on what might need improvement for this deck. This is going to be my new standard deck as I can't stand Ceremonious Rejection against my previous mono black Eldrazi deck at my lgs. Grixis control won both of the two game days I attended earlier. I came 3rd at one of them, but R/W vehicles and Grixis control were difficult games at times with my previous deck.

This new deck I'm hoping will be much more suitable against these kinds of decks. Again i'm just looking for ideas of what might be changed against some of the decks I mentioned. One of the things I'm wondering is whether I should have To the Slaughter in the main deck, as well as whether I should keep Transgress the Mind in the maindeck.
