Aggro deck benchmark

Standard Deck Help forum

How many turns to pumping out 20 damage makes a good aggro deck?

I tend to be able to dish out 20 in 5-6 turns with my current deck (I realize this is play testing in a vacuum - there is no opponent). How does that compare with other aggro decks in the current standard?

TIA.

What deck are you playing? T5-T6 is good for a Sylvan Advocate green based aggro deck, but a turn or two too slow for a Falkenrath Gorger red/black aggro deck.

That is definitely an aggro deck.

Haha, yes it is!

Let's hope it can hold its own against other decks out there!

Feel free to +1 me if you like it, and I'm very open to suggestions on improving the deck!

Thanks!

How do those red/black vamp decks win in less than 5 rounds?

My monowhite humans can hit 20+ on turn 4 sometimes (in a vacuum), which is pretty good in standard. Even my Modern Gobins deck goes for the t4 benchmark, albeit a bit more robustly than soi humans.

Korombos, do you have a link to that deck? I'd like to check it out.

I've turned round 4 wins in with my deck, but 5 is much more common.

There are 2 basic t4 scenarios I hit with this one. First senario: t1 2/1 (20 life), t2 2 more 2/1's (18 life), t3 another 1-drop and Thalia's Lieutenant (9 life), t4 12 damage on board 3x 3/2, at least a 2/2, and a 1/1 lieutenant.

The other scenario involves a t3 Knight of the White Orchid getting me to 4 lands on t3.

Having 11 2/1's in this deck's key. Getting a Thalia's Lieutenant or an Always Watching on a gang of those is quick & deadly. Unfortunately, red has many ways to fry them before they get too scary.

Mod Gob Piledrivers and bushwhackers combine for some explosive turns with this deck. I don't have any t4 ideal scenarios planned out with this one, I just remember a few times counting up 27 damage or so on an all-out early swing, surprising both myself and my opponent.
