All Things Delirium

Standard Deck Help forum

Posted on July 10, 2016, 4:52 p.m. by Cragon18

In a similar vein of All Things Wolven by the venerable clayperce, I would like to start an "offical" Delirium forum on Tappedout. The goal of this forum is to share ideas, opinions on decks/cards, and to highlight the best delirium decks on Tappedout.

This one is less about delirium and more about Emrakul, the Promised End, but it is still delirium heavy. Would love your thoughts :)

I have tweaked this deck to heck and back and I believe that I've finally found the right combinations. It has tested extremely well at FNM going pretty much undefeated. I actually have a super positive win rate against G/W Tokens, I haven't gotten to play it super often but its won against it every time. Mono-White Humans couldn't beat it either, nor could a few mirror builds or many of the Control decks. Bant Company gives me a little bit of trouble and it really just comes down to a coin flip I've noticed. Whoever has the better opening hand is usually who wins.

I elected to take out all of the Delirium-Enablers such as Vessel of Nascency and all the others and went for the natural approach. I have all 7 types in here and a singleton of the big lady Emrakul, the Promised End herself. Everything in the deck is designed to answer whatever your opponent plays while still beating them in the face. Emrakul gives me the big huge late game threat and without fail, every game I've played her I have won because there just isn't a way for a guaranteed answer. I'm pretty much satisfied with the list but I wanted to share it with everyone. I doubt there's anything I missed but it always helps to have extra eyes.

B/G Delirium is first place going into the Pro Tour Top 8! I hope you all already purchased/acquired your Lilianas, Grim Flayers, Ishkanahs, and Emrakuls!

I did 2 days ago get a foil Emrakul, the Promised End for my deck. I only however have 1 Grim Flayer and Ishkanah, Grafwidow unfortunately at the moment, and no Liliana, the Last Hope.

What frustrates me is I got first place for pauper at FnM at my local game store and I had the choice between store credit or 5 booster packs of sets in standard. Had I went with the packs I probably would have bought like 2 more with cash anyways, since generally if I take packs as my prize I generally buy some too.

I took the credit because usually I see it as a safer choice. But unfortunately some others that I know there opened some packs of Eldritch moon and it turns out I missed out on a lot of value. There was a Elder Deep-Fiend and then some other bulk rare from 2 packs, then from the person who took second they chose to go with 3 packs and got an Ishkanah, Grafwidow and Deploy the Gatewatch. Then from a 6th pack there was a Gisela, the Broken Blade and then from a 7th pack a Liliana, the Last Hope.

A new standard brings new brews. Delirium lost a few good pieces but remains mostly intact. I am not sure how well it will do in the new standard as I feel this will be a much faster format than the CoCo dominated standard of yore. I still think the cards are powerful enough to warrant some brews though. Noxious Gearhulk and Demon of Dark Schemes seem to slot right in to most delirium builds. What other cards might you all want to brew with for a delirium build?? Feel free to share your new brews!

Here is my updated Delirium build! Still a work and progress and not yet play tested but suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Nissa, Vital Force I'm interested in. I did happen to get 1x Nissa, Vital Force, 1x Noxious Gearhulk, at a prerelease as well as 1x Blooming Marsh.

Fellow Deliriumers! First off, congrats for jumping on the delirium train early, the pros finally caught on as well ;)

So I'm debating whether or not to put Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet into my deck and would love everyone's thoughts about him in a delirium deck specifically. He would be replacing my second copy of Mindwrack Demon. I'm specifically wondering about the matchup with WB Flash and mirror matches.

I'll include my current deck here for reference as well. Happy Delirious Holidays!

I always knew it would become popular. I had my 2x Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet mainboard, however I was eventually convinced he should be moved o the sideboard as he doesn't contribute to delirium like Mindwrack Demon. It's a tough call but I would put them in the sideboard.

Here is my decklist if your interested, It should be finished within this month? It took me since the beginning of late September/early October to buy/trade for most of what I have. Just need about 9 more cards and it's finished, just in time for Aether Revolt.

Here is the decklist. I have Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet in right now, but the alternative is just take him out and put one more Mindwrack Demon in.

Delta-117, just in time for Aether Revolt is right. I hope the new boardwipe that was leaked is real. That would find a home in my deck real fast.

Also I think you're right, but it makes me sad. What do you bring Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet in against? Just aggro for lifegain? Mirror to help prevent delirium?

December 5, 2016 12:11 p.m.

_Delta_ says... #14

I would put it in against aggro decks, in my case locally that would be against R/W humans, and U/B zombies. If I was to face g/b delirium in the mirror I wouldn't bother as he dies from Grasp of Darkness, Murder, and Noxious Gearhulk and plus with or without creatures dying delirium can be achieved easily. G/R Aetherworks is a real issue for my mono black Eldrazi deck that I'm using until G/B delirium is finished, and I can't just quite seem to usually kill them fast enough and that is why I also think Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is better in the sideboard.

These articles I suggest you should read as I myself did find them useful:

I believe Yahenni's Expertise is real, I can't wait to get probably a play set of those.
