From the very beginning of spoilers for SOI i wanted to build werewolf tribal deck. I was working on it for very long time. I must admit that this deck owes its final form to BlueEyes. I really liked what he did and now i want to share my creation.

Ladies and Gantlewols, i present to you:

Every constructive criticism, thoughts, help and advices are much appreciated.

Well had my first Run in with my buddies new RW Goggles. Really good thing I already owned Naturalize and Natural State dam they can get out of control fast for the wolves to keep up.

All,
Thanks to everyone who voted to see a Zada-Silverfur brew on SaffronOlive's Against the Odds series!

He ended up building a Temur deck with a heavy Investigate theme ... not just Confront the Unknown on ZadaFur, but with an additional combo in Clues + Ghirapur AEther Grid + Second Harvest .

As you might expect, it was a super-fragile but super-fun deck!

clayperce I'm very confused at his selection of cards. Very, very surprised. No Might of the Masses, Slip Through Space, Expedite nothing. He missed a ton of cards and in my opinion the point of abusing Zada's ability lol.

Rasanck,
Yeah, it's not my style either ... I (really) enjoy a combo build, but am not a big fan of the super-insane-off-the-charts-combo build, which is what I think he was going for.

Nevertheless, I think he was hugely successful at his main goal: He very obviously had a blast playing the deck! :-D

Working on werewolves again! I really liked having the human interaction and am delving deeper into the idea. Right now it is Naya, and not werewolf.. specific? Like, im not running Howlpack Resurgence or Moonlight Hunt etc. Using them as the raw power they have on their sunny side. Its main power comes from Always Watching . Im writing up the primer thing for it at the moment as well as trying to pick a more interesting name.

I would like to pilot it tonight so any feedback or testing would be greatly appreciated guys!

And i watched the MTGGoldfish deck and it was so much fun to watch explode! definitely interesting making it Temur.

I was thinking you might be able to throw in some Traverse the Ulvenwald and Vessel of Nascency to tutor up Zada or Partisan, whoever you were missing. Thought it could be neat. Touch of Moonglove is a fun spell to target Zada with ;)

I'm not out of the werewolf game just yet folks, this is my updated deck from testing around. I'm still 50/50 about Silverfur Partisan over Hermit of the Natterknolls  Flip since it basically comes down to what's being played more control or creature decks since silverfur replaces itself but hermit can block all day, but I digress, here's my updated deck with both Collected Company and Pack Guardian to ensure a better late game plan (sideboard still needs work).

Hey clayperce, I found this article a while back while researching Cinder Glade and Game Trail for potential of entering the battlefield untapped. I think it may be worth putting in the hall of fame posts section. The article is here: http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/magic-math-shadowlands-and-battlelands/

It would be a clickable link, but the link syntax doesn't seem to work for me.

Yea Ryjo, if you look at the rules on Gatherer, you can reveal any land for Game Trail as long as it has the subtype mountain or forest. So if I play Game Trail, i could reveal a Canopy Vista to make it enter untapped.

Hey Guys, Now that Black control is here to counter Bant and be mean to it, let's talk about anti-black tech. Right now i've got Display of Dominance on my sideboard as primarily meta-counter to black/blue, but also as a wee bit of removal against black/blue. I also have Shape the Sands on my sideboard as anti-black tech. It can certainly survive a Languish, and with Zada he'd end up murdering all of his own creatures while leaving mine alive. Lmao. As a side note it can also survive a Lightning Axe like no other too.

Just want to share my FNM results with you guys. I dont really play a Werewolf deck, but I run Silverfur Partisan and Dromoka's Command as a great and fun combo in a Naya Tokens deck, which I posted here before already.

I updated the deck and wrote my FNM results and match info, if you want you can read that, try my decklist out and leave some comments, suggestions, ideas.

Unfortunately, didnt do extremely well on the FNM, but with the amount and quality of players we have here I guess I didnt do that bad either.

Did pretty well tonight at FNM, ended up going 4-1 for the night and taking third. The packs I won netted me a Gitrog and my fourth Silverfur (which I may or may not put in my wolves deck, though I might start brewing a Zadafur deck too).

Started off slow in two 2-1 matches in a row against B/W tempo decks. Got wrecked 0-2 against white humans where I got mana-screwed twice in a row, then I barreled through two 2-0 matches against mono-blue control.

Overall, I feel good about running full wolves/werewolves tribal in my store's meta, just need to sideboard and mulligan more effectively.

Vejhi says... #17

Hey, so i couldnt make it to standard fnm, but did get to draft, it Was fun. Afterwards i played vs 2 og the players from the standard turney, BOTH B/G aristocrat,i Got totally demolished by both of Them, only won 1 game out of 5. But only because he was Mana screwed. So my question is have u Tried vs the aristocrat deck? and what do u do to win?

May 21, 2016 12:52 p.m.

kamerask says... #18

Vejhi

Well the aristocrat matchup is pretty bad, basically they are favored against most of the popular stuff (like GW Tokens etc.) and a werewolf deck is not an exception. I played the GB Aristocrats before changing to 4c Rites deck and except for control the aristocrats can grind most of the games and just win by flipping Ormendahl or sacrificing enough creatures to Husk and Cutthroat.

You need to be very agressive to beat them and force them to chump block a lot. Basically you cant give them a breathing space. A good way to beat them is a lot of disruption (in this color combination I guess a lot of burn). But as I said, it is hard.

May 21, 2016 1:01 p.m.

Vejhi says... #19

Yeah kamerask, i felt like some early removal maybe Fiery Impulse would have done alot but i did find out that if i Got to build a board, that mine was alot bigger power/toughness wise, so if i had drawn my Nissa, Voice of Zendikar early that i could have blocked his husk without loosing so much. And eventually overrun him, also he told me theres a card that removes a land and all types of it vs westvale is that correct? And if so whats it called?

May 21, 2016 1:25 p.m.

kamerask says... #20

Vejhi

Yeah, beating his Husk and forcing him to block a lot can be game winning, so I would get really aggressive against deck like that, however it may not be enough sometimes.

Crumble to Dust is the card. It is quite expensive, but gets rid of Westvale Abbey  Flip which is nice, but dont forget that for GB Aristocrats, Abbey is just plan B (as LSV said himself plan A is just comboing out with enough Cutthroats and a Husk).

Wish you good luck when facing them next time :).

Hello everyone! What do you think of Arlinn Kord? I have trouble knowing if I should directly +0 her to get a token and transform her or if it is better to use her +1 in some scenario. I feel that her werewolf form is better in most cases, so I never really use the +2/+2 vigilance and haste power. Any thoughts on this?

Did someone manage to get her ultimate off at least once? In all my games she gets targeted heavily and I never could do it, must feel pretty nice if you have a nice board :D!

May 22, 2016 12:46 p.m.

kamerask says... #23

foxysky

I play Arlinn in a Naya Tokens deck that i tweaked here already. Basically, for my strategy it is always preferable to 0 her and then play with her flipped side, which gives you the option of some nice burn removal or a mini-Overrun that is very relevant in my deck. Her +1 is not used that much I guess, but is always nice if you have something like Lambholt Pacifist  Flip and you want to enable his attack. You give him +2/+2, vigilance and haste and smash for 5, which is nice.

So in conclusion I am a bigger fan of her werewolf side which gives me better options and I presume it is the preferable side even in a full werewolves deck. :)

May 22, 2016 1:28 p.m.

Kizmetto says... #24

Oh man i always use her +2! Smacky smacky.

Usually she's not around until my next turn so may as well use it to smash in some damage, granting haste is usually a game ender in most cases.

foxysky on the Arlinn question, for me it depends on the situation, but mostly if i play her on curve i +0 for the extra board presence and the intimidation of her flipped side removal and pump the next turn. I have yet to have her make an emblem.

On a side note is it just me or is tappedout really slow and unresponsive most of the time?

Werewolf aggro deck. Idea is to build a board of big creatures, get trample and run over the opponent. I like the lists that run CoCo, but unfortunately don't have/can't afford it. However, I feel like CoCo can make the deck into a bit more of a combo deck, waiting to coco end of turn with a flipped Geier Reach Bandit. This build has atarka's command for bigger creatures and more direct damage. Preventing life gain can be very relevant as well. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm currently debating on whether or not to up the creature count, but don't know what I would cut. Thanks for looking!:

Hello guys , i've been testing Hermit of the Natterknolls in my main deck as a replacement to Silverfur partisan , and from a general point of view , it seems more rewarding as a 3 drop. My thoughts : partisan has 2/2 and it will be the first target for a removal spell so it will produce one 2/2 token at least , but , he wont be able to block unbuffed , on the other hand , hermit has 3 toughness , gives the deck a Card draw mechanic , and punishes the enemies that will cast a random spell on your turn to avoid fliping , if you flip him , he is a /5 toughness wall at least , and if they try to cast a spell , now , considering its lategame , you will draw 3 cards in one round , which can turn the game in this point.

I just re-read Under the Silver Moon, our first intro to Arlinn Kord  Flip. Wow, what a great story!
And it certainly hints that Werewolves will have a starring role in Eldritch Moon ...

"What is coming?" Hal asked, serious.

"I don't know."

Alena snorted, but Hal was not distracted. There was something about this woman [Arlinn!] that made Hal heed her words.

"I don't know exactly," the woman said. "But," she indicated the altar and Mrs. Palter, "I have seen enough, and so have you, to know that whatever is out there is worse than werewolves. This world will need us soon. It will welcome the sound of our howl, the muscle of our pack. We may be the only force that can stand against whatever it is that is threatening it."
