Best Version of Mono Red?
Standard Deck Help forum

What is the best version of the deck? Is it the Goblin version with all the goblin gen and obelisks, the aggro version with the swiftspears and lightning berserkers, or the taxation version that runs 4x Scab clan Berserkers and eidolon of the great revel.
Budget is not an issue I just want the best mono red deck list in standard to take to my next FNM.

The deck that won the Protour won only because his opponent mulled to 3, so his is not the best.

Zaiato: That version was pretty much identical to the other 3 or 4 RDW decks that Top 8'd. But you're right. It wasn't that good.

Zaiato To win a pro tour you also need to get to the top and then win the top 8. An opponent mulling low one round is 100% irrelevant for the deck's performance.

You need to analyze the match-up in which his opponent mulled to three.
It was game five of a best of 5 set. It was U/R ensoul shrapnel VS mono red.
Both decks can win very fast, and once you establish that both decks are capable of out racing each other, getting a fast start is paramount.
The U/R Ensoul player made the gut desicion to mull until he had a turn two ensoul hand. When he didn't get it in the first few mulls, he reluctantly kept mulling lower and lower assuming he would lose the 'race' anyways unless he luck sacked himself into a 4 or 3 card hand with an early ensoul.
Understanding the match at hand and why his opponent mulled to three is important when analyzing data from a big event like the pro tour.
At the end of the day, the mono red player has a more well-rounded deck because it doesn't revolve around getting 1 of only four copies of a single card every game, Ensoul Artifact.
The mono red deck can usually keep a 4-spell, 3-land hand, every time. The Ensoul Deck has the combo-feel to it and can chose to pitch away what may seem like perfectly reasonably 7's for a better 6 with a chance at hitting their God draw of a turn two ensoul on a flyer.
Also, it's pretty easy to run 4x Smash to Smithereens in your sideboard now that the ensoul deck is a known part of the meta.
The finals was a best of 5 set, they were tied 2-2 going into the game where his opponent foolish, in my opinion, chose to mull to three and subsequently lost. Regardless, both of those decks fought through the rest of the field to make it to the finals, making a bad desicion on mulligans, or getting lucky your opponent mulls to three has no business bringing into question the quality of the decks in question in the Finals of a pro tour, both decks earned their spots at That table, and your less than knowledgeable response of, 'it only won cuz his opponent mulled to three' remark makes me believe you know very little of the archetype in which you wish to buy into, and you'll end up picking the attrition version with Scab-Clan Berserker because it looks more expensive on paper, and if we're following your logic, that will make it the better version.
I've been playing mono red varients this season for the past 4 months. I've gone on hot streaks, and on bad break benders, the more skilled the pilot, the better results a mono red list will put up. I already took the time to link you my version of the mono red deck in standard. I would suggest starting with my list and trying that out for yourself.
Good luck piloting mono red in some shape or fashion.

@Behgz, You have a big mouth and you are trying to act smart but I bet that no matter which deck I pick I could out pilot any garbage you assemble. If anything it sounds like you are upset that you don't have the money or resources I do, and why would I buy into an archetype I already own I just wanted to shake things up a bit maybe give the other players at my local FNM a chance to win.
You have a loud mouth and that's it don't you try to condensed me when I can out play you with any deck in the format.

Your the one who made a thread asking for help, only to respond as though you knew all the answers already. If anything you have been the one with a condescending attitude. Hence the tone of my last comment, which is full of useful info, not just a knee-jerk response offering nothing new to the conversation. As I said, good luck piloting mono-red, you'll likely need it.

@Behgz And like I said I could pilot any deck and still beat you the thread was a joke loser just wanted to see the intellect of the community you failed, Mono Red is simple and I can easily beat kids like you with it.

So basically what you're saying is, you pompously think you know everything, and you decided it would be fun to test the intelligence of other people by seeing if they agree with you.
I'm linking Epochalyptik because this is the sort of rude, snobbery that can ruin a community.

"Mono-red is simple"
And therein lies the problem with this thread (among other things).

Ah yes... "it was a joke". The distinctive cry of those who have made an obvious ass of themselves and want to try and save face. Little do they know it doesn't work.

@ComradeJim270 You sir are an idiot, I don't need help from children like you.

The version with berserkers, swiftspears and abbot is definitely the best version.
