B/G Eldrazi Deck?

Standard Deck Help forum

Helllloooo! : 3

Thanks for stopping by, I just wondered if anyone had a few good ideas for a G/B Eldrazi deck! I got my hands on experience with them at the pre-release and I gotta say...wielding the power of plane destroying creatures is pretty sweet. Hence, why I went G/B because I get a good mix of that mana ramp, ingest, destruction/removal, oh and the big bad dudes that make people cry.

My goal is a deck that uses those big scary guys that you don't want to see hit the field because of how much they will ruin your day. I also wouldn't mind much removal either!

If anyone could toss out a few ideas, I have a few in mind if I am honest, but I am looking for a few more ideas or perhaps people are thinking the same as I am? It will be interesting to see what people offer up.

Thanks!

Perhaps a splash of red for a couple copies of Impact Tremors? It's what I'm trying out and it's pretty effective when you're making two or three creatures a turn.

If this helps more, I threw it together with my tired thoughts last night! This is kinda what I was aiming for.

@ItchiUchiha117 Yeah but I'm not sure how able I will be with that. The big Eldrazi guys are really expensive and tend to only come out one at a time. Unless you simply mean, mass produce scions...which is possible.

Yeah, I was referring to the mass production of Scions. From Beyond is fantastic for it.

I have this deck which is sultai BUG, it's insanity because it has lots of creatures that buy time or sift cards or ingest. Blisterpod is an amazing little guy because no one wants to kill it (and give you more mana), so if you hang it back and keep it as a blocker, it's really awesome. Then you also use Salvage Drone to attack and ingest. If they block it down, you get to draw/discard. Really, you're trying to work your way to Sphinx's Tutelages to win it for you. The draw factor is great because you don't have to over flood yourself with needless mana, and it also helps the tutelage along the way. Your big spells are Sire of Stagnation, Alhammarret's Archive and Ob Nixilis Reignited, and they're just there to make it move along faster.

The deck is called Salty Altar of Stagnation and yes, it does use Altar of the Brood.

For constructed, sacrifice is definitely the way to go for G/B eldrazi. Slow, grinding, value engines that eventually kill your opponent just because they ran out of creatures and removal. Oh joyous day!

Alright well it's good to know that I'm at least thinking in the right direction. I am likely going the scion route with mass producing Scions or at least trying to.

My questions are slowly turning toward what sorts of lands should I be running and how many for that matter. What about big Eldrazi creatures? Am I running way too many in the example up there? Do I need more removal?Etc.

Anything else you guys wish/want to add? I'm taking all feedback at this point, I need ideas, I see ways to there, but I need to stay alive that long.

I played with it and against it. Going the Sultai route is actually viable (and recommended) because now you have access to all those counter spells to grind the game out.

Only negative I can think of is the mana base can be tricky to balance out.

So something more controlling and just buying time till I am able to drop a big creature or two and start beating them down. That makes quite a bit of sense, and I do love taking toys away. I might repost take two of the deck after a little tweaking.

This is how I would make it, any feedback on this brew? I tried to balance the mana the best I could, and offer options. At least if I were to make the deck, this is what I would put in there.

Rudmed; your deck has some similarities to mine, I think the completely colourless eldrazi for like 6-8 mana is not the greatest strategy for sultai, but if it's working for you, go for it. I think honestly, take advantage of Sphinx's Tutelage while it's standard. It's a good, reliable win con that combos with drawing. The drawing is a benefit regardless of tutelage or not. Blisterpod holds off Monastary Swiftspear quite nicely, but no one is going to kill it off because it risks giving more mana (which they think you will need), and in fact, you use that to your advantage by sifting through your deck for the tutelage while swiftspear is just hanging back, not attacking into your growing army of Blisterpods. The other dude that is really underrated for a 1 drop is Salvage Drone. It helps you get to your tutelage faster, and it also helps with a bit of milling (with ingest). Fathom Feeder is another good one because he has deathtouch, he also has ingest, and he has a 5 mana ability which is better than the 6 mana ability on Sphinx's Tutelage. Those three little eldrazi creatures are going to be very troublesome for aggro decks. The stuff you use your scions for is Sire of Stagnation or From Beyond, which you can also sacrifice to go get more sires.
