Hello everyone, Brand new to mtg, only own M19 cards from a booster box (with nexus of fate) a deck builder's toolkit, a fat pack bundle, all 4 challenger decks, and all 5 planeswalker decks, which I got as gifts. Been having a ball playing planeswalkers and challenger decks. Now trying to build my own casual standard deck from scratch, but I cannot find any decks built using only M19 cards, and I'm not ready to start buying singles from other sets just yet. So as a challenge to all you veteran mtg players, any advice, direction or deck help for casual standard using M19 cards only? Greatly appreciate any help.
I'd suggest taking the red challenger deck and tweaking that with the cards you have

For M19, if you have any multicolor uncommons, those are the cards specifically made to build the set's archetypes around. If you have more than one copy of any of those, they are a good starting point. Welcome to the club!

Hey, what mythic rares and rare cards did you get when you opened your M19 booster box, fat packs and toolkit? Some of these cards can be a good starting point to making a deck because mythics and rares are among the best cards in a set. You have Nexus of Fate, if you like that card it's a good reason to build a deck with blue in it :)
In M19 there's quite a few good card interactions to consider to build a deck around. Here's a few mono colored ones:
- Red Dragons: Sarkhan, Fireblood, Sarkhan, Dragonsoul, Dragon's Hoard with Demanding Dragon, Nicol Bolas, the Ravager Flip, Lathliss, Dragon Queen and other Dragons
- Blue Artifacts: Tezzeret, Artifice Master, Tezzeret, Cruel Machinist, Sai, Master Thopterist with Skilled Animator, Fountain of Renewal, Diamond Mare and other artifacts.
- White Lifegain: Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Ajani, Wise Counselor with Ajani's Pridemate, Leonin Warleader, Mentor of the Meek, Shield Mare, Diamond Mare, Resplendent Angel and other life gain.
- Black Zombies: Liliana, Untouched By Death, Liliana, the Necromancer with Death Baron, Graveyard Marshal, Diregraf Ghoul, Walking Corpse, Reassembling Skeleton, Demon of Catastrophes and other Zombies
- Green Ramp: Vivien Reid, Vivien of the Arkbow, Llanowar Elves, Druid of the Cowl with Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, Gift of Paradise, Gigantosaurus, Pelakka Wurm, Aggressive Mammoth and other big creatures.
My advice if you're just starting out deck building is to make a mono colored deck. Each of these examples is a single color using one of the Planeswalkers. The Planeswalkers abilities give you a defined strategy which is a good starting point to planning and building a deck around. It's easier to start out with a mono colored deck because then you can add a second color later on when you get a better idea of deck building.
Once I get a better idea of the cards you got from your box, fatpack and toolkit, then I can further help you if you would like.

My advice? Wait for rotation and buy singles. Singles are the best way to buy into standard, unless they do challenger decks again. If I read correctly you will buy singles from m19 but not from the other sets that wont rotate in 6 weeks? I think that you shouldn't buy any singles until after rotation period. The challenger decks are somewhat decent and are probably better than whatever you could scrape up from just m19. I can't help you build a deck If I don't know what you have, and multimedia allready gave you some great generic archetype sudgestions. If you haven't played standard FNM yet and that is what you are building for, then I strongly sudgest that you participate in that and see what kind of cards people are playing before swaeting too much over indevidual card choices. No semi-compedetive standard deck will be playing cards from a single set. I would help you brew something If you put all of your cards in a comment though :-).

Well, welcome to mtg. Looking at what you have available so far, it's a decent collection to start building decks with.
It would help a lot if you gave an overview on the rares you have multiple copies of, and maybe some tendencies which colours you'd like to play. This way, building to your options and favour is more promising.
