Does Less CMC Mean Less Land?

So I decided to experiment with an entire deck where the highest CMC is 3. I usually use 25 land but tend to get a bit much in a normal deck. With this I thought maybe I should even it out. I'd love some feedback between the two to decide which is better and why. Devoid Quickies and Devoid Quickies Normal

Yes. Straight up aggro decks can use something like 21 lands while control decks can go up to 27. Check out tutorials on how to build mana curves.

Any particular ideas? I know Vile Aggregate would be nice but I question what to take out.
