Eerie Interlude and blockers?

If I block with a creature and then exile my blocker with Eerie Interlude or Eldrazi Displacer is the attacking creature still blocked? Does anyone take damage? The way I see it the attacker is blocked and no one takes damage since the blocker was exiled before the damage assignment.

Thank you!

You got it right. As soon as a creature is blocked, it won't deal damage to you, unless it has trample. If you exile it or if it gets destroyed, the attacking creature will simply just not deal any damage :)

Thank you! With that it's worth asking the follow-up question, if they have trample would I take all the damage?

Trample will trample over the toughness of the blocker, if the blocker is gone it all tramples over to you. So yes.
