Hey guys very much a beginner here and want to keep things to a budget as I feel if the game is for me, I know this type of deck exists bur haven't seen anyone use it on FNM, I've lost every game so far with my current deck haha so don't mind if it mainly loses, but my budget is limited and this can be made for cheap and has an actual strategy unlike my thrown together starter cards.

Obviously the main issue is it's assault formation or bust really, so need to stall until I get one, I was thinking of maybe making room for 4 negates or other counter spells to protect them, and also is Glaring Aegis or Glint best for this situation?
Any advice would be welcome =)

Cheers guys, yeah Mog had someone else say I should consider black if white isn't working for me but didn't get into specific cards. My only issue with black is it doesn't have a low mana 5/6 toughness creature, that said kin-tree basically gives me that since I can copy one of my blues and I can't believe I missed Taigam's, that's going in for sure.
Also Chris cheers buddy might scrap meandering towershell and just stick 2 of those in.

Yea the black is for more utility as opposed to any real beaters. But there is always Silent Skimmer

Hey folks update here taken some things on board and switched white to black, had a look at a few other cards I thought might go well. I've updated the deck so if anyone wants to have a quick look that would be great.
My main question is quite a simple one...
Do I use Skyline Cascade for that stalling effect or just stick to islands (due to skyline being tapped on entry)?
then....
Villainous Wealth, too gimmicky?

As I can't edit. If Villainous is too gimmicky, would it be best to chuck in a few more things to get towards assault formation, say anticipation. Or something like sultai charm/silumgar's command?

I've tested Mirror Mockery in this style of deck which worked pretty nicely. It can act to prevent Mantis Rider or Siege Rhino from attacking or be a permanent bounce on Sidisi's Faithful or Profaner of the Dead.
Other cards to consider are Treasure Cruise for carddraw and Become Immense for more pumping. You might also want to consider putting Titanic Growth in your sideboard to still do damage in case your opponent plays enchantment removal or prevents you to dig for Assault Formation.

Are you completely decided on standard only? Tree of Redemption will win you some games, especially with two on the field, and Feed the Pack or Profaner of the Dead in your hand. I made my first deck with the same ideas but only modern-legal. Went with just blue and green, and win most of the time with it. Just posted it a minute ago too.
Here's that deck if you're interested: blue green assault defenders

Aye Tim I am, I do appreciate there are some fantastic and still very budget options in Modern but I wanted something for the standard FNM.
One card I was erming over is trying to find space for Silumgar, the Drifting Death.

Silumgar will make you happy as a sideboard card against token decks that stall your big butts from hitting your opponent. For maindeck I don't think it's very good. In this kind of deck you're strongest in an aggro/tempo role rather than midrange. For that Silumgar might be too slow.

I would ditch white for black and add stuff like Disowned Ancestor, Murderous Cut, Taigam's Scheming, Kin-Tree Invocation, and Sultai Charm
