Standard Deck Help forum

Game Daybis this weekend. I'd like to win this time. I get to the finals every single time then I choke. Based on what we know about the meta right now, which archetype would be better for me to sleeve up?

I am teetering between UW Humans and UW Tempo.

We all know what UW Humans consists of. It's good.

The tempo list I am running is basically: Silkwrap, Declaration in Stone, Knight of the White Orchid, Hangarback Walker, Reflector Mage, Icefall Regent, Archangel Avacyn  Flip, Archangel of Tithes, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Archangel Avacyn  Flip, and Secure the Wastes all in two of and 4 of slots. I have counters in the sideboard along with some extra pressure and removal.

Which deck do you find to be more potent for the current meta? I know them both inside and out its just a matter or meta. Haven't had a ton of time to play test.

I'm leaning towards tempo because of the heavy Eldrazi meta. (I also run eldrazi, different twist but Eldrazi nonetheless) Tempo is really good against eldrazi in the form of exile, not bounce. Show me a decklist and I will give my final decision.

Care to check out my deck? No one plays Abzan Eldrazi so I decided to make a deck built around Secure the Wastes & Cryptolith Rite.

I'm concerned that the humans list is going to come across as the deck to beat. The pro tour gave people definite ways to do exactly that. I can't really judge the tempo list without, you know, the list, but it seems like a better choice for the first few rounds. By the time you reach the best players, that advantage is largely gone.

TheDevicer and 8bitMick, the deck is up on my profile. The list is from memory and a little rough. The sideboard has 3 spots open for additions. It's called SOI Tempo.

You want Tragic Arrogance in the side. I'd also go up to 3 Negate. Otherwise it's pretty sweet. I'm a bit concerned about your mana though. Triple white and double blue seems a bit iffy. How is that?

Never gave me issue yet. I hit it when I need to like 90% of the time. The WW is most important to hit the Orchid so I can find what I need when I need.

Good call on sideboard
