Gisela, the Broken Blade
Standard Deck Help forum

So I just happened to get a Gisela, the Broken Blade, and I might be trading for a second. What might be the best kind of deck to use it in? I don't have Bruna, the Fading Light as of yet.
I was thinking either a Abzan control deck with cards like Seasons Past, Grasp of Darkness, and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet.
Or a black/white control deck, I happen to have a Sorin, Grim Nemesis and 1 Ob Nixilis Reignited currently. I also happen to have 1x Linvala, the Preserver if I did want to do a deck like this.
I don't have all of the cards I think I might need, but I was just wondering what color of these two should I do?
Yeah G/W could work well in fact too, as I do have Lone Rider Flip, Eldritch Evolution and a Thalia, Heretic Cathar although I'm not sure if I'm trading the last 2 or not.
I will keep a deck like yours in consideration. Anyways thanks for the suggestion.

Your welcome. The ultimate combo is to play Thalia's Lancers, tutor for gisela, then sac him with eld evo for burna, when she comes back bring him into play and search for avacyn. It's pretty broken.

If your budget, you just need 1x gisela, 1x Bruna and 3x lancers which are cheap. The more expensive card would be eld evo at $5. You need 2x more for the combo to be reliable.

Yeah that really works well.
Another idea I was thinking of that I didn't mention earlier was with Odric, Lunarch Marshal and cards like Lone Rider Flip and Ulvenwald Hydra along with Westvale Abbey Flip.
I don't have any Thalia's Lieutenants or Tireless Trackers anymore so I might try something with Odric, Lunarch Marshal, and I might just try to use Desperate Sentry instead as I don't have some of the other creatures.
Now I have a lot of other standard decks that are at various stages of being done so this one might not be started for a while yet. I have a Red/Black vampires deck, a mono black Eldrazi Control deck, a Blue/Red Thermo-Alchemist deck, and a Green/Black Eldrazi ramp deck.
I seriously got to quit starting more decks and start to sell off some cards to improve my others.

I have a great zombie deck I haven't added yet and a madness Vamp deck that is really fast. I just like my humans. It's just quick and we'll rounded.

Vampires are my main deck currently which have gotten me to the top 8 at both my previous local game day events.

Hey delta I know this isn't the right thread for this but if you are looking to trade for some of these cards, I have 3 gisela and 3 brunas and other things. Let me know!

I'd definitely suggest a b/w control deck with Thalia's Lancers.

Thanks for offering BladeMasta220, but no thanks as this deck I don't really plan on building yet until I finish a few others that I listed above. I know someone locally who said just 2 days ago actually that they would be willing to trade a Gisela, the Broken Blade since they just got their third at a Fnm Eldritch Moon draft and he only needs 2.

The most top tier decks for her are G/W Angels (G/W Tokens with an Angel package) and B/W Control! Both of which are pretty expensive but Mono White Angels is a budget deck you can find on MTG Goldfish!

Thanks for the advice MagicMike77!
I'm quite familiar with MTG Goldfish, I find it such a useful source of information for magic. Thanks for suggesting Mono white angels I will give it a look later.

For sure man! And the G/W Angels build is my personal fav due to Sigarda preventing Emrakul's Ability and G/W Tokens being badass

I use her in a g/W human deck to help flip Lone Rider Flip. Check my deck for an idea. Plus she rules the air with an Always Watching . It makes her a 5/4 first strike with vigilance.
