Help with improving the Bfz Event Deck?

Standard Deck Help forum

I recently bought the the BfZ Event Deck, Ultimate Sacrifice, from my local Target. After taking it home and playtesting it against some of my other decks, I decided to not take it apart and distribute the cards, but instead keep it and morph it into a wonderful standard deck.

For those wondering about the original decklist, here it is.

ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
4Blisterpod
1 Warden of the First Tree
2 Sultai Emissary
2 Zulaport Cutthroat
4 Rot Shambler
1 Grim Haruspex
2 Nantuko Husk
4 Catacomb Sifter
1 Eyeless Watcher
1 Smothering Abomination
1 Whisperwood Elemental
1 Brood Butcher
1 Tasigur, the Golden Fang
1 Hangarback Walker
4 Bone Splinters
2 Vampiric Rites
1 Evolutionary Leap
1 Corpseweft
2 Murderous Cut
4 Evolving Wilds
4 Jungle Hollow
1 Llanowar Wastes
2 Rogue's Passage
6 Swamp
7 Forest

3 Duress-S-
3 Caustic Caterpillar-S-
4 Jaddi Offshoot-S-
3 Cranial Archive-S-
2 Ultimate Price-S-

The first change I made to the deck was cutting Corpseweft for Hooded Hydra, since it has great synergy with the whole "sacrifice a creature to make more creatures to sacrifice" thing.

I don't have a lot of money to throw around, so I can't invest in a full playset of Hangarback Walkers.

I would love to hear your opinions! I don't do much standard, so hopefully this deck can get me started. Thanks!

If you want any ideas, check out this deck I put together. It's pretty much the same strategy, but more decked out, and with much more consistency than wizards will ever give us with a pre-con. "Son, you want some fried metagame for breakfast?"

I played a deck similar to that recently. It had Nantuko Husk instead of Rally the Ancestors, and some other creatures instead of Altar's Reap. It was a strong two-color deck which took 2nd place at our FNM.

I would recommend 3x Endless One and 1x Hangarback Walker for players that can't get 4x Hangarbacks. You don't usually want too many X creatures with Collected Company.

You also don't really need Altar's Reap when you have Grim Haruspex + Catacomb Sifter.
