Midrange vs Ugin

Its no secret that ugin-the-spirt-dragon is a really powerful card when resolved and can be very difficult to beat so other than Hero's Downfall what are some good ways to beat the spirit dragon in a midrange deck if he happens to get to the battlefield?

If you're running black you have access to Thoughtseize and Duress which, depending on what you're up against, can serve multiple purposes.

Can you please tell me exactly what deck you have in mind? There are a lot of midrange decks in standard right now....

Well I am mainly in the brainstorming stages right now but I am thinking about something either abzan or jund color scheme. Just want to know all the options out there for taking down Ugin

Well, your options are: Hero's Downfall, Thoughtseize, Duress/Despise (Duress being better against control decks), win before T8, Stain the Mind if you're running a token theme...

Suppression Bonds will also handle it, or flying artifacts that can hit Ugin directly.

In Abzan you get Banishing Light as well.
