New Innistrad Deck Ideas

Standard Deck Help forum

I just recently got back into Magic, and I got one of the new starter decks, but it, like the others, seems to not be my style. Does anyone know what good decks or deck ideas/theories work with this block?

*Also, please no saying "Just go werewolf/vampire" unless it is a new spin on the classic decks, as it is just a copout deck

There are a bunch of decent decks of varying power levels. We need to know your the following:

The best deck in the format right now is either G/W Tokens or what I call Selesnya Red Tokens (splash red for Chandra and Arlinn).

If you want a to run control the best deck is B/W Control, followed by Izzet (normal ramps to Ulamog), Grixis, Jeskai and Esper.

If you want Planeswalkers go for Naya. Best ones in the format are probably BFZ Gideon & Nissa, Nahiri, and Chandra, Flamecaller. Arlinn and Sorin are right up there too.

Aggro isn't very successful in the format rn excluding mono white humans so I would t go for it any other way.

Ramp is everywhere and in many different ways, Scions, Creature abilities, or basic mana ramp. Normally you look to cast Ulamog usually involving World Breaker as well.

Hope this helps.

If you want a flavourful deck, go with UB or monoblack zombie tribal. You have fun shenanigans with Diregraf Colossus, Risen Executioner, Relentless Dead and Fleshbag Marauder, along with Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet.

Humans/soldiers/allies have a lot of synergy.

The strat I was going for also works really well in white/green such as

Benevolent Allegiance (Sigarda Humans)

DarkRurouni1 changed this deck a bit and had been doing more with the clue tokens originally.

krunchyfrogg has a good deck that exploits clue tokens:

There are a lot of neat strategies you could build with revolving around delirium. I've seen some Jund (B/R/G) decks playing out of the graveyard with combos like Traverse the Ulvenwald and Goblin Dark-Dwellers (to go find more Dark-Dwellers). Ever After is a sweet card, too.
