Standard Deck Help forum

Hey! Last i played years ago and I jumped into the prerelease and got 2x Archangel Avacyn  Flipand a [nahiri, the harbinger]. I did well in limited with black red madness and want some insight on whether black red madness splashing white to use my new toys (avacyn and nahiri) was a good idea or stretching too far in making a standard deck. Definitely enjoying the madness mechanic and nahiri is rockstar for that and avacyn doesn't synergism but is still a beast on her own (or, God willing, combing into herself if I get both in play)

First off I hate you and everyone that looks like you.

Secondly, um no not really. You would be better off staying with BR than trying to splash white for those two cards. The mana base would just be too rough to handle trying to play such expensive cards as a splash.

you could probably splash for nahiri but avacyn has too many white pips to be a splash trade the avacyns off for more cards for your deck.

Thanks! It seemed like stretching too far and I don't know what justifies a splash. Also that grammar in my post was wretched, I didn't proof read and was on my phone

Logansullivan: advice on making mana work for one white pip on nahiri? I'm not married to using her but if I can swing it without gumming up my b/r I'd like to

running Caves of Koilos and Battlefield Forge would be pretty helpful, adjusting to how much of each color you are playing

In all honest Nahiri is not a great walker for standard in general unless you are running a sort of toolbox deck with big fat beater as 1 ofs like Dragonlord Atarka that you can use her ult with, otherwise her + and - ability are very meh.
