New R/G Marvel Build?
Standard Deck Help forum

So I've had this brew in my head that seems pretty good but I don't know how viable it is. Basically it's a fusion of the old R/G Marvel and R/G Aggro Energy builds from last season. It would run all the energy producing creatures, not the puzzleknots and try to get to an Aetherwind Basker and a Lightning Runner either through ramp or through Aetherworks Marvel. Once both of those creatures are in play depending on the board state it may be possible to attack infinite times.
I don't have a list yet, but does anyone else think this is fast/consistent enough to be plausible? What would be good inclusions?
I'm not sure how good this would be at all any of these ideas if mine, but the first thing that came to mind was Gonti's Aether Heart, along with Lightning Runner. Now this would mean however you would need a lot of artifacts and ways to reduce them in cost.
This has actually a lot of possible routes I think, you could go Panharmonicon, and lots of creatures for Aetherwind Basker such as things like Ishkanah, Grafwidow, Sram's Expertise, Servo Exhibition, etc.
Saheeli Rai, Panharmonicon, Gonti's Aether Heart, Aetherwind Basker, Lightning Runner, Foundry Inspector, Herald of Kozilek, Sage of Shaila's Claim, maybe even amusingly Aethersquall Ancient, or that new blue rare whale in aether revolt, are all I think possible ways in some combination you could build something like this.
I have to get going for a class of mine but I'm done for the day after this course, and I will definitely give this more thought when I'm not in such a rush as this sounds like it could have potential.

I like the idea a LOT.
Inspiring Statuary may be of some use to get those big Creatures out faster.
Probably the biggest issue you are going to have is keeping all your Creatures on the field, as the strategy seems to rely on having a few out.
Do a rough build. I always find that I get the best idea of what to do to improve a deck if I actually play it.

Subbing to see how this evolves.
You could run Chandra, Torch of Defiance as ramp or go a more creature-based strategy with Cryptolith Rite

Well college has started up for me and I've got tough classes so I have significantly less time to brew lists but if I have time after I read my textbooks I'll link a rough draft here. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking the idea shows promise though :)

I really like this idea. Here is a very rough draft of what the deck might look like. The ability to play as an aggro deck as well as have a good late game is appealing. What do you guys think?

Would you consider Planar Bridge in lieu of the Aetherworks Marvel? The price is high and non-energy centric, but the consistency would be 100%. I've been thinking of a build using the Aetherwind Basker and Lightning Runner along similar lines as this thread.

Here's my take:
It needs tweaking but it's a good start. Builds up very fast and can win without the two Creatures it is focused around.
Planar Bridge is too slow for the deck, in my testing. Plus you have to pay mana, whereas with Aetherworks Marvel the payment is with , which you have plenty of.
I get around 15 by Turn 5.
