New to Standard

I'm considering playing Standard but I don't know where to start. I saw The Professor's videos and thought one of those might be a good place start. However, I'm not sure which to choose: Werewolves or Vampires. What do you guys think?

I agree that Vampires is stronger, especially at the moment since new, strong Discard cards came out for Eldritch Moon.
That being said, Werewolves are only a touch weaker.
It kind of depends what you want for your Standard experience. If you think you'd enjoy the Werewolf mechanics, and don't want to win every match, then go with those. Same for Vampires.
You can do some playtests on TappedOut to see which deck you enjoy more.
You should pop by the All Things Wolven deck if you choose to go in that direction.

You should put these into deck forms so people can view them and comment on the pages themselves. It's also much easier to read once formatted.

ok so i decided to go w/ vampires. which of these decks do you think is better and what can i do to improve them?

TCCs seems to be a stronger concept to me, with the hellbent theme working better with EMN's vampires. I don't think I would be saying anything new by recommending Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet-he's backbreaking to play against, and he wins games if the opponent doesn't have removal (easily one of the best creatures in standard). That's probably one of the biggest draws to playing vampires. I would also recommend you cutting down on the Lupine Prototypes, because I can imagine a lot of scenarios where it's a dead card because you can't empty your hand, or that it wouldn't be the best play to empty it. Have you considered Stensia Masquerade? the buff+first strike+madness cost which basically gives it flash=a versatile, insane tech.

I've never played either list, but I've played against both archetypes quite a bit in recent months. Both have the very streamlined aggro tribal theme, and it looks like vampires are the stronger tribe because madness/hellbent work well with aggro, and rakdos colors give you access to almost all of standard's best removal. That being said, I've always had more trouble with werewolves than vampires; I think the deck is more stable just because creatures like Kessig Prowler Flip and Ulvenwald Captive Flip are much better top decks late game than vampires' one and two drops. That, and Moonlight Hunt is actually a very good removal spell.
