I've uploaded three decks that I needed help with and nobody has yet to comment. :'(

Likely because origins was 100% spoiled and everyone is brewing accordingly. That's my theory anyway.

Have you posted them in the forums? With creative names? You should really have posted one link above so users clicking on this know what you want help with.

So you're complaining about not getting deck help yet you didn't even post a link up here. I can tell you're trying real hard....

If you don't feature your decks on the feature queue, they won't get very many views. Not sure if you did or not.

Also noticed that one of your decks is listed as "casual." I personally don't like making suggestions for casual decks, because well, it's casual. You shouldn't really have to change anything. There's no metagame really. Not really much to say.

That said, if you really want to work on a deck and build something well, try searching cards on gatherer (or any card search engine) to find specific mechanics you're looking for (like, "enters the battlefield," "graveyard to your hand," or "creature dies," etc) to get a full view of cards available instead of just sifting through your trade binder and bulk in your personal collection. You can also go to a card's page on here, and it will show you posts that people have made on the forum and in comments to decks that include that card, which will give you an idea of what other people are doing with that card. For example, if you really like the card Myth Realized and you want to brew something up with that card, you could see what other people are doing with that card, build some prospects, and then hit the card search engines. Don't rely on your personal card knowledge to fill in gaps. Really look for that perfect card. Looking for a two drop that answers Eidolon of the Great Revel to go along with your Path to Exile in modern? Don't just look at cards you have laying around and toss a Doom Blade into your deck. Search the databases and find cards like Celestial Purge that may not have been on your radar. Maybe you'll find a better metagame choice. It's always worth looking.

Well one of my decks is Azorius Control (Origins Twist). I'm super pumped for origins and wanted to get a headstart on it. I'm sorry for not putting it into the description of the post.

I think it's been mostly covered above, but:

  • Do your decks have creative names, to help them stand out in the cycled decks?
  • Do you actually cycle your decks?
  • Do you have any of them in the feature queue?
  • Do you have the "Needs help" checkbox on the deck page checked?
  • Are they listed on your user page?
  • Have you made a post about them in the appropriate Deck Help forums?
  • Less recommended, because there are a lot of users who don't care for this sort of thing, but have you searched for similar decks on the site, then commented something along the lines of "This is an interesting deck! I've brewed something similar! How are the Trumpet Blasts working for you, I've never seen that card used here before? If you could give me some advice over at my deck (linked [ [ Here ] ]) would be great!"
  • Have you made yourself known around the forums, so more people would be going to your page to check out your decks in the first place?

Just a few suggestions on some ways to get your decks more views/comments/suggestions. I don't play a lot of Standard, so I ain't about to go to your decks and make some terrible suggestion, but those are some general tips.

Also, as a final note, if you're gonna make a forum post about how no one checks out your deck/s, and then not actually link to your deck... you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot. Humans are lazy and want everything laid out in front of them, so they're not gonna dig through your profile to find the deck they think is the one you want advice on. (EDIT: You have fixed this problem.)

The amount of effort you receive is often directly proportional to the amount of effort you put into posts. I laugh at the people who post something like "I have a bunch of decks that need help. They're on my page, so take a look" to deck help.

Well I go to categories that I know about so I can give real advice. I just got into the standard scene and I don't know much about it. So if I make a deck it usually needs as much help as I can get. I was just wondering about it. That's all, I didn't mean to be rude, I was just wondering where everybody was. I try to be mutual with comments. if someone comments on my deck, I try to go to there page and comment something that helps. Thank you all for the input and I will keep it all in consideration. :D

It helps when you explain what you're trying to do with the deck, what your budget is if you have one, and any other restrictions you have, otherwise it can be difficult to help.

At least make them show on your user page so we can offer you some help

magnetcrocodile I don't know how to do that.

Click the "Edit" button on your deck as usual, and on the upper-left portion there are the "Appears on Profile" checkbox. Check them and your deck will show on your profile

@erabel

Your last two bullets really stood out to me!

I admit to doing the second to last bullet (commenting on similar decks to my own) quite a bit. Almost all of the feedback that I have received came about that way, actually - I hope this was never taken the wrong way because I honestly am just most interested in decks that are doing something that I have already given a lot of time thinking about and researching.

I suppose there is a fine line between looking for common interests with other people and 'jumping on their deck/thread'. Maybe avoiding the step of actually linking your deck on their thread / deck can help keep things clear. If they are really sharing your common interest then they probably would take the time to look at what your take on something was.

I think your last bullet, however, really is the key. If you chum around the site successfully then you will consistently get more up votes than a guy who is new or not 'favored' as much - all other factors being the same. I would say that this is the most noticeable source of variation between users that do and do not get tons of favorable attention etc.

@8bitMick I'd say be patient and enjoy the many research, breaking news, and collection cataloging features of the site in the mean time.

worst case, find a few trusted names on here and post it on their wall. I'll take a look at your decks if you want, but I'm no good with standard.

TheDevicer pretty much summed it up. You get what you put in. This site is a community, so everyone has to work together to get what each one wishes to achieve. Help others, and you will be helped. Ask questions, and you will get answers. Put in the effort, and you will see results.

If you wish for more advice, read this.

There is also this one.

Although, as an un-upgraded user, if you wish to use spoilers and accordions in your deck descriptions, you'll have to use the ones found here.

Really, I think another piece of advice made evident by the multiple links is to browse the forums and articles to learn more about the site and its workings. The site can't accommodate comfortably unless you are familiar with its nooks and crannies.

Good luck. :)
