R/U Counter Burn?
Standard Deck Help forum

I have been thinking about trying this deck and was just wondering if I could get some opinions and maybe suggestions on it.
The idea of countering spells while throwing firballs at people seems like it could be a sound and fun strategy using both the new Chandra and Jayce together, plus there is a pretty good combo with the new mage ring land and Crater's Claws to do some big game ending damage.
but how do I start to build this and would it even be worth building?
If money is no option and you want the most competitive control deck you can make, I would suggest this (U/B Control), or this (Sultai Control). Sorry about the similar post to your last thread, but now that Richmond ended there are a lot more lists with plenty of ORI cards. If you want to try U/R Counterburn ducttapedeckbox is probably the best person you could talk to, as he runs the deck at FNMs. Good luck on whatever you decide to play.

As Wabbbit mentioned, there are other good control decks floating around. They all have their benefits, so it'll come down to your preference and local meta. The list I've been using didn't get anything exciting from Origins (minus Psychic Rebuttal, which I have yet to test).

You're looking at R/U Counterburn. B is black, U is blue.
There is some precedence for this kind of deck. MTGGoldfish put a list up a while back. It also took a states tournament a few months back.
There's also another variation that runs Pyromancer's Goggles.
I've been playing this list at FNM. Feel free to check it out. I'm happy to answer any questions.
