Hey all,
I have been out of the MTG circles since Ice Age..... I know, I have missed a lot. My old neighborhood gang is starting to get back together again for kitchen table magic. I would really like to build a 60 card deck around Samut, Voice of Dissent is this a bad idea? I would see Samut being more of a commander than a standard deck build around. Thoughts?

I don't think it would be competitive in standard but I think it would be a fun deck for casual.

Lardork0880,
Welcome back to Magic!
So far, there's only been one Samut deck listed on mtgto 8.com in Standard; it might give you some ideas. And making top 4 of 25 participants means it may have FNM potential and definitely has kitchen table potential.
Good luck (and skill) on the brew! And please keep us posted!

Thanks clayperce and hardhitta71194
I agree about Samut being slow for standard. I think I will buy some cards and build a commander with it.
I have been Looking around at decks for ideas. I think I will start off again going with a blue, green deck. I pulled a Nissa, Steward of Elements plus I loved playing blue back in the day.

You can never go wrong with blue. In my opinion at least. =P

I definitely see Samut as more of a Naya Stompy commander. It would be too slow in standard
