Satyr Wayfinder or Commune with the Gods
Standard Deck Help forum

Hi guys
So I'm playing around with making an enchantment deck, and I'm looking to include a 3-of of either Satyr Wayfinder or Commune with the Gods, but I'm having trouble deciding between the two.
Both are good at getting enchantments into my 'yard, obviously (which can then be cheated in with Starfield of Nyx)
The advantage of the Satyr is that he leaves a (small) body behind, contributes to devotion (not a big concern) and helps me find my land drops. The disadvantage is that I may bin a Herald of the Pantheon, or one of my Starfields.
The advantage of commune is that it digs slightly deeper, and lets me save one of Starfield/Herald, but also that it doesn't help me hit my land.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
I'm also running a sultai, but based on combo-like mechanics, where I need one of two specific cards to accomplish my win-con. Both of them are enchantments, so Wayfinder lost in competition with Commune. Too many times happened, that I've burried things crucial for me. My deck runs on 23 lands, the main problem is not the number but the variety of lands. For that purpoce, Evolving Wilds are much better than Satyr. Commune leaves less to chance - you have 2 options of getting something back. What's more, Commune is usefull also in mid or lategame, when Satyr hardly makes a difference as 1/1 blocker or option to get another, 6th or 7th (for an instance) land of random kind or nothing at all.

2 ways to look at it.
Satyr Wayfinder: Up to 4 in the yard and a body however not an enchantment so no recurrence.
Commune with the Gods: Sorcery so no speed difference. No body but possibility of another card in the yard.
I personally would go with the body, chump blocker at least.

Mj3913 ~ that's why the satyr won with me. Plus in testing ive had several situations where I have a face down Den Protector and a Satyr Wayfinder against a freshly cast Goblin Rabblemaster and my opponent just has to lose the token 2 turns in a row while waiting for a burn spell to get rid of one. By then I've usually gotten what I needed or a way to find it.
My deck is designed to be a hard win for aggro in game one with a few main board answers to it while still remaining strong in the late game

I'm brewing a sultai control deck and after furious testing I went with Satyr Wayfinder due to the land situation. I use him to fuel my delve spells and hit my land drops which has allowed me to drop down to 24 lands where I'd usually run about 26-27. Leaving the boddy behind can help with aggro decks. Especially mon red for rabbles amd Goblin Piledriver
Just my 2 cents. It's important to note that I only run 7 crestures in the deck, the other 3 of which are Den Protector so that is another reason that Commune with the Gods lost with me
